think they make it in a water
04:37
here it’s very good it’s 11 hydrogen and
04:40
89
04:41
oxygen and i am embarrassed to admit
04:44
that i’m not sure
04:45
if that’s exclusive to them or if that’s
04:47
all water but it says that
04:49
it’s very clear that that’s what it is
04:56
well yeah h2o would be like 66 percent
04:59

07:18
it is brought to you by
07:19
mud water it’s actually good i’ve tried
07:22
it and it’s actually not terrible
07:24
it is a it is not it is not terrible
07:28
it is it is not terrible and again if
07:30
you add some honey
07:32
it is it’s pretty tasty it’s actually
07:35
good yeah i’ve been putting honey in it
07:37
and it comes with a little frother thing
07:39
which definitely under fill the cup
07:42
because you were going to get it
07:44
everywhere that’s that water
07:46
is that thing is like you could power a
07:48
small boat with that man
07:50
holy hell you want to stir some crap so
07:52
not only do you get some mud water but
07:54
when you buy your starter pack
07:55
by going to muddywatersmedia.com you get
07:58
a small
07:58
a boat uh engine with a little thing
08:02
attached they call it a stirrer but
08:04
goodness i don’t never needed to stir
08:06
anything that intensely in my entire
08:09
in my entire wretched life um but you
08:11
can
08:13
and and i just want to say uh my frother
08:16
broke
08:16
after one use but the customer service
08:20
at mudwater
08:20
so fantastic that i emailed them about
08:23
it and they
08:24
said oh well we will ship you a new one
08:26
right now and yeah
08:28
yeah if you break the first one they
08:30
actually send you
08:31
a uh a fan attached to a corvette engine
08:35
um which has roughly the same torque uh
08:38
that thing is intense
08:39
um i’m pretty sure it was designed by
08:41
tesla and uh it is kind of scary
08:43
it’s very quiet but it creates tiny
08:45
cyclones in your cup i don’t know why
08:47
i’m so focused on the on the frother i
08:48
think i was just
08:49
surprised because i’m like oh yeah the
08:51
little stirrer i’ve used these before
08:53
and it like most of the water left the
08:56
cup
08:56
um because it was because i filled it to
08:59
like two-thirds i didn’t think
09:01
i didn’t you know i didn’t i didn’t
09:04
i didn’t think it would be like that but
09:06
anyway the coffee alternative is good
09:07
guys if you were waking up today and say
09:09
my god
09:09
i am sick of coffee i want mushrooms in
09:12
the morning i want
09:13
neuro-protective mushrooms and a chai
09:15
tea a masala chai tea
09:17
maybe a little bit of turmeric and some
09:18
sea salt and cinnamon and that’s
09:20
it that’s all i want i want to stir it
09:22

11:13
chrisreynoldslaw.com
11:15
chrisreynoldslaw.com
11:17
matt
11:24
uh yeah speaking of stimulated
11:28
we’ll do that speaking of stimulated i
11:31
found myself stimulated with rage and
11:33
anger
11:34
uh watching something that happened in
11:36
carthage tennessee matt
11:38
uh where a sure and where a uh
11:41
in in the carthage city council uh an
11:44
absolute outrage happened
11:45
uh where a libertarian councilman tried
11:48
to actually do the work of the people
11:50
and uh and well we’re gonna find out
11:52
what happened when uh when he tried to
11:54
do that our guests tonight our first
11:55
guest tonight we have two guests tonight
11:57
because we’re a fancy show
11:58
our first guest tonight is the
12:01
libertarian council
12:02
member of the carthage tennessee city
12:06
council
12:06
and he will definitely need to unmute
12:10
his mic
12:10
and his name is ladies and gentlemen
12:13
please welcome to the show
12:15
the fabulous amazing my friend and yours
12:19
councilman cole ebel cole thanks so much
12:21
for coming on
12:23
thank you for having me uh my message
12:26
today is brought to you by
12:27
tennessee hemp pharmacy uh oh that’s
12:30
right yeah
12:31
yeah yeah we uh uh i put my um
12:34
my dark murky uh psychotic stimulant
12:37
called coffee
12:38
into this mug every morning and take it
12:40
around with me so i figured i’d uh
12:42
give a shout out to a person i
12:44
distribute for
12:46
nice and what’s it what’s their website
12:49
their tennessee hemp pharmacy but i’ve
12:51
got a cannabis company called
12:52
cumberland cannabis and it’s
12:54
cumberlandcannabisco.com
12:56
if you’re interested in buying any
12:57
tennessee hemp pharmacy products
12:59
or any other uh tennessee cannabis
13:01
products
13:04
cumberlandcannabisco.com
13:07
and we have some we have some fantastic
13:09
alliteration to go on
13:10
on with that because cole is also the
13:13
councilman
13:14
of the carthage council where he was
13:17
kicked out on his keister for trying to
13:20
cut costs
13:21
can you tell us about that cole i
13:23
absolutely can
13:24
so uh just uh i’ll try to summarize this
13:27
as best as i can
13:29
we we’ve got a city council it’s
13:31
consists of six members plus a mayor
13:34
and a new business came along and so or
13:37
actually it was old business came along
13:39
and the first amendment uh their first
13:40
resolution i was trying to introduce was
13:42
to
13:43
um abolish our building inspection fees
13:46
uh basically a couple months ago
13:48
um we were working on a project to um
13:51
through um an organization i’m involved
13:53
with called the american legion
13:54
uh basically i’m giving flag education
13:57
and hanging up flags on main street
13:59
um and we found out if you want to hang
14:01
a flag on main street uh
14:03
you have to pay a 50 fee to put that
14:05
bracket on
14:06
so um wait per flag
14:10
yes per flag not for god’s sake
14:13
on your on your business on my building
14:16
because it
14:17
overhangs main street and anyone else is
14:19
building over hangs main street
14:21
so that being said uh i looked and i saw
14:24
hey you know what uh
14:25
we’re coming in at six million dollars
14:27
in the bank on a 1.5 million dollar a
14:29
year
14:30
um budget and we’re over
14:34
um we’re basically going over our
14:36
revenue projections by 1.1 million
14:38
dollars
14:38
every single year um we collect six
14:41
thousand dollars in building inspection
14:43
fees the city should pay for that
14:45
so that was my first resolution that
14:47
resolution
14:48
uh no one got to hear what it was about
14:51
because
14:52
they had determined that i had to make a
14:53
motion first
14:55
and i was not allowed to explain what
14:57
the residue resolution was
14:59
by the way down the line there was
15:00
another resolution in order to
15:03
put resolutions out to the public so
15:06
that they can actually
15:07
read and understand what’s going on
15:08
which the public has no information on
15:11
this
15:11
by the way so that got shot down for
15:14
lack of a second
15:15
um and i didn’t notice um
15:18
a lot of the other city council members
15:21
nodding winking at each other
15:23
you can watch the video yourself i’m
15:24
sure you’ve got a link so my second one
15:26
was
15:27
even better um with all the gun control
15:31
and all the crap going on on the federal
15:33
level i figured that hey
15:34
you know what we need a sanctuary city
15:37
for the second amendment
15:38
we need to get out there and make sure
15:40
that we don’t abide by any
15:41
um federal gun laws that the second
15:44
amendment is clear it’s written how it
15:46
is
15:46
and that’s exactly where we need to be
15:48
so
15:49
i started to introduce that knowing that
15:51
i wasn’t get a second i started to
15:53
read out um everything in the resolution
15:56
um and i was met with a gavel and a
16:00
gavel and a gavel i am out of order i’m
16:02
out of order
16:03
where i’m introducing a resolution i’ve
16:05
got the floor i have no time limit
16:06
whatsoever
16:07
i’m allowed to introduce this resolution
16:09
because guess what the public doesn’t
16:11
know what it
16:12
is and it’s called transparency so with
16:15
that gavel i was told i only get two
16:16
minutes to do it even though i was at a
16:18
minute and 50 seconds cool
16:19
fine didn’t pass for lack of a second
16:22
everybody wink wink no
16:23
non coal the libertarians here so the
16:26
third one was my
16:27
favorite and i’ve been working on this
16:28
for about three years and i did a little
16:30
bit of study and i worked with numbers
16:32
and calculators and budgets and i got an
16:35
entire wall filled with clipboards of
16:37
all this stuff after being denied uh
16:39
for two years access to the budget i
16:41
finally got with john poole which is our
16:43
city auditor and got the numbers myself
16:45
found out that hey we could lower
16:47
property taxes by 50 percent not to
16:50
mention we could lower them by a hundred
16:51
percent and still
16:52
have six figures over projected revenue
16:55
in the bank
16:56
but i was just going for fifty percent
16:58
because hey that’s a radical notion
17:00
and i didn’t even get 18 sec i didn’t
17:02
even get 16 seconds in before the gavel
17:04
dropped
17:06
and i was forcefully removed from the
17:09
city council meeting
17:11
so wait a second where is this money
17:13
coming from that you could literally
17:15
eliminate property taxes instead is it
17:17
like sales taxes what where’s the money
17:19
coming from
17:20
so tennessee has um some great taxes no
17:23
i don’t think great taxes
17:24
um but we have a lot of low or no taxes
17:29
across the board we have lower property
17:31
taxes compared to the rest of the state
17:33
but we do have the highest sales tax
17:35
rate
17:36
so um and i know the difference is oh go
17:38
ahead
17:39
i was i used to live in tennessee i
17:41
lived in uh davidson county
17:42
um i think can’t do with our firearm
17:46
the the council or sorry the the tax
17:48
rate
17:49
the sales tax rate was 11.
17:52
it’s 9.75 9.75
17:55
okay so it’s pretty high but um
17:59
and there are certain things obviously i
18:01
don’t believe in any taxes but again i’m
18:03
trying to
18:04
step approach step up yeah of course of
18:06
course
18:07
and i feel like um you know property
18:09
taxes is a feudalistic tax
18:11
um we don’t need a feudalistic tax we
18:13
own our property
18:14
we should not have to pay taxes on it
18:16
year after year after year
18:18
additionally it stimulates the economy
18:20
and stimulates
18:21
your home prices um if your property
18:24
taxes are lowered especially
18:26
in a county where everyone is moving to
18:28
because
18:29
we just have a lot more freedom out
18:30
there um
18:32
and we if we want our property taxes our
18:35
property values to go up property taxes
18:37
is the
18:37
way to drop in those will definitely
18:40
increase them
18:41
so we’re going against that we have a
18:43
huge sales tax revenue but people will
18:45
you know shop locally reinvest it and i
18:47
feel like we’d actually have a
18:49
higher tax revenue off of that to lower
18:51
property taxes more again this is about
18:53
sustainability
18:55
we i wasn’t allowed to explain any of
18:58
that to anyone on the council
19:00
it is it’s it was just a complete ego
19:03
trip it was completely talking out of
19:04
one side of their mouth
19:06
out the other side of their mouth we
19:07
want to be respectful but yet we don’t
19:09
want to have a discussion
19:10
we want to literally forcefully remove
19:12
someone who’s representing
19:14
their constituents who had the largest
19:16
vote count in the entire
19:18
city council who got elected and is on
19:21
the only member of the planning
19:22
commission that’s been elected to the
19:24
planning commission so
19:25
again it’s just silencing a voice that
19:28
um was completely done illegally
19:30
and yeah i was going to say to be clear
19:32
this was illegal you were following i
19:34
mean
19:34
you never try to challenge a libertarian
19:36
on robert’s rules of order you were
19:38
obeying the rules of the council of how
19:41
to do things
19:42
they’re the ones that were out of order
19:44
i’m actually gonna play this video
19:46
uh unfortunately you and matt won’t be
19:48
able to hear it but but i and everyone
19:49
else will and i guess that’s what really
19:51
matters um
19:52
uh and of course cole you’ve you’ve
19:53
already heard it because you were there
19:55
and matt you you listened to it
19:57
this is actually what happened when cole
19:59
tried to get rid of
20:01
fees that impacted among others veterans
20:03
who wanted to put up
20:04
flags and get charged 50 bucks per pop
20:07
for putting up brackets for a flag
20:10
get rid of or at least reduce by 50
20:12
property taxes
20:13
and make the city of carthage into a
20:15
second amendment sanctuary state to
20:17
protect your right to keep and bear arms
20:18
this is how the carthage city council
20:20
led by mayor
20:21
mayor sarah smith responded to that
20:24
can’t do with our firearms which is
20:25
going on right now in this country okay
20:27
we have emotion we have a resume we have
20:29
a motion to adopt this resolution that
20:31
has been
20:32
presented for sanctuary city
20:35
and the rest of this resolution do i
20:38
hear second to this motion
20:43
all right it has no section so it says
20:46
seconds
20:46
guys
20:52
um the next item in the business is
20:55
property tax resolution do i hear a
20:58
motion yes i have a motion
21:02
and i’d like to um i’m not hanging on
21:04
soon
21:08
i have a resolution directing the cmfo
21:10
motion to
21:11
adopt the resolution directing cmfo to
21:14
report a draft budget ordinance with the
21:15
revenue projections based on a 50
21:17
reduction in property taxes for the town
21:19
of carthage tennessee for the fiscal
21:21
year
21:21
beginning july first 2021 whereas the
21:24
town of parliament emotion has been
21:25
right whereas the town of carthage i
21:28
still you
21:37
[Music]
21:42
these people are all adults
21:52
would you just please make the motion
21:54
then you can speak all you want
21:56
that’s the way it works i’m in the
21:58
middle of explaining my motion because
21:59
unlike other things i will do this
22:04
this is not a civil meeting it is not a
22:06
civil media
22:10
be removed would you please remove sir
22:13
police chief would you please remove
22:15
them so now they’re illegally removing
22:18
uh coal from the meeting they’re asking
22:20
you
22:24
i proudly believe in defending the
22:27
second amendment
22:28
and trying to cut a 50 property tax rate
22:30
and being interrupted on my motion
22:33
because i did have the floor and i am in
22:35
order you are out of order
22:37
so this is how we’re going to bully you
22:39
can’t keep me quiet with robert’s rules
22:40
of war
22:41
you can’t keep whatever that’s fine i’m
22:43
for it but this has definitely not been
22:45
civilized
22:46
we have not had a good discussion here
22:47
whatsoever it has not been good
22:50
this is politics
22:54
[Music]
23:05
so this is what happens when there’s
23:08
only one libertarian on the council
23:11
is that you have one person that’s
23:13
fighting for
23:14
the rights of the people of of in this
23:16
case the city of carthage
23:17
uh and their and the money that’s being
23:19
robbed of them that the
23:20
city doesn’t even need apparently uh and
23:23
also the
23:24
uh and and and trying to remove uh
23:26
onerous and ridiculous fees and to
23:28
protect their right to keep
23:29
bear arms you are illegally removed
23:32
from the council meeting so that you
23:34
can’t even introduce the resolution
23:37
it’s a big club and i’m not in it and
23:39
that’s okay
23:40
i don’t want to be in it and when i ran
23:42
for office i said it’s going to be
23:44
transparent
23:45
if you don’t have anything to hide you
23:46
shouldn’t worry about it everything i’m
23:48
looking to do
23:49
um i’m not looking to force anyone to do
23:51
anything if you’re looking to force
23:53
people to do things or spend money in
23:55
certain areas
23:56
you’re going to have an issue with me i
23:58
don’t pick fights with anyone you can
24:00
watch
24:00
every single council meeting to date i’m
24:03
the only one that showed up for
24:04
every single one of them i don’t pick
24:06
fights with people
24:07
but i will ruthlessly defend the
24:10
constitution the united states
24:11
especially the bill of rights
24:13
and also our human rights and
24:16
i’m just it’s one of those things you’re
24:19
not getting your way you’re not getting
24:20
the freedom of speech you can’t even
24:22
hear me out you can’t let the people
24:24
hear that they are
24:24
this is how much money the city has this
24:27
is what the city’s doing to veterans
24:29
this is what’s going on in washington
24:31
this is how we can actually
24:32
have an effect at the local level they
24:35
don’t want that heard
24:36
um the city council members on that uh
24:39
steve babcock
24:40
barbara kanapple sam petty bill reece
24:43
and jesse peters
24:44
all had a chance to stand up and do what
24:46
was right they align themselves with
24:48
mayor smith
24:48
i’m going to go ahead and just call them
24:49
out on it i have no problem being called
24:51
on it take responsibility for your
24:53
actions
24:54
yes absolutely in fact i’m going to uh
24:57
take that moment to put up
25:00
in the comments the names of everyone
25:03
else including you
25:04
uh that are on the council including the
25:06
mayor and vice mayor and some nice
25:08
emails where you can reach them and tell
25:09
them what you think about this
25:10
respectfully
25:11
respectfully let’s be respectful and do
25:14
not be
25:14
disrespectful i’m not going to stoop to
25:16
their level i’m going to
25:17
of course national i’m going to stay
25:19
respectful and i i well i mean they are
25:21
communist
25:22
but uh the communist talk i will second
25:26
even if i
25:27
vote against it because freedom of
25:29
speech is beautiful i want to hear what
25:30
they have to say
25:31
and they deserve the same amount of time
25:34
as i do
25:35
absolutely absolutely they deserve the
25:37
same time that you do
25:38
and there we go so this is going to be
25:41
the
25:42
list of the names of i don’t know why it
25:45
came out that way but here we are
25:47
these are the names of the and the
25:49
positions of the people
25:51
uh including cole uh that are on the um
25:54
that are on the carthage tennessee
25:56
council uh as i said in my call to
25:58
action where i put this out on
26:00
on my spikeco and social media uh i
26:03
encourage anyone who lives
26:05
anywhere near carthage tennessee to get
26:07
in touch with cole
26:08
and the other council members and mayor
26:10
if you if you wish and uh and find out
26:12
when that next meeting is
26:13
uh and then that way the people the city
26:15
council people can see
26:17
uh respectfully and peacefully
26:21
what the people of carthage actually
26:22
want and i bet it isn’t for the only
26:25
councilman
26:26
the only person on the council who is
26:28
respecting the
26:29
rights and the money and the property of
26:31
the people uh
26:32
to be silenced illegally and removed
26:35
from a council session
26:37
um cole i know that this is you know
26:39
probably not your immediate
26:41
uh uh your immediate concern although it
26:44
may be
26:45
but uh our is you know i was recently in
26:48
tennessee with y’all
26:49
and i talked about the need for
26:51
libertarians to run at the local level
26:53
and this is a perfect example as to why
26:55
um are y’all uh working to try to
26:57
identify some people to also run in
26:59
carthage so that
27:00
uh we can get so that we can make it so
27:02
that we are in the club and that we
27:04
control the club and that the club is
27:06
about giving the rights back to the
27:07
people
27:09
we are um there are several people i’ve
27:11
been working with um i’m not really
27:13
gonna you know divulge yeah yeah yeah no
27:15
i know it’s early on yeah
27:17
and it’s not necessarily i’m not
27:18
necessarily trying to identify people as
27:20
a libertarian either
27:22
um just just um you know basic
27:25
freedom views i i get i’m i’m in a
27:27
conservative area
27:28
um you know and so you’re gonna have a
27:29
lot more conservative views and and i
27:31
personally have a lot of conservative
27:33
views myself
27:34
i just as a libertarian don’t force
27:36
those conservative views on other people
27:38
that’s the only difference
27:39
um that being said um there are some
27:42
some plans going on you know we’re
27:43
working to see who wants to step
27:45
up who wants to get involved a lot of
27:47
people do come up to me and they do say
27:50
you know man i would do that but that
27:51
looks terrible and i’m like yeah
27:53
it is it’s awful but um it wouldn’t be
27:56
terrible if more people got involved
27:58
i don’t want to do this and you
27:59
shouldn’t want to do it honestly you
28:01
shouldn’t
28:02
want to do this but it should be in a
28:04
position of service
28:05
it is a position of service it’s a
28:07
position of representation
28:09
i constantly constantly hammer in that
28:12
we are there to serve the people
28:13
and we are there to submit to the people
28:16
right
28:17
we the people are not there to submit to
28:19
us and so
28:20
as a city council member i’m there in a
28:24
position of service and submission
28:26
and um that that sometimes blows
28:29
people’s minds
28:30
but that’s what exactly what it is um
28:32
the people are the authority and i do
28:34
believe in respecting authority and
28:36
that’s just where that’s just where that
28:38
stands well that’s
28:40
it’s great that you’re doing that even
28:42
if even if you had just one
28:44
ally just one ally on the city council
28:46
you would have gotten a second
28:47
you would have had a second so even then
28:50
you have a wedge
28:51
in so at least the people would hear
28:53
what it was
28:54
and personally i am just shocked
28:57
absolutely
28:58
shocked that a bunch of conservatives
29:00
wouldn’t want to hear about
29:01
protecting the second amendment just
29:03
shocked i am i am gobsmacked and
29:06
disgusted
29:07
that conservative i’m sure it’s a
29:09
nonpartisan race but conservative
29:11
republicans
29:12
are not wanting to talk about cutting
29:14
taxes and fees
29:15
and protecting the second amendment i am
29:18
i don’t even know how to continue with
29:19
this show
29:21
what is a conservative republican
29:23
because i literally i think i know
29:25
one and that’s it and and seriously
29:28
that’s it
29:29
and it’s uh it’s just it’s conservative
29:32
as a
29:32
conservatism in the republican party is
29:35
completely dead
29:36
it’s it’s it’s long gone it has to do
29:38
about power it has to do about control
29:41
and i’m i’m just not for that i i do not
29:44
know what is best
29:45
for the people of carthage i don’t i’m i
29:48
have
29:48
no right to tell anyone how to live
29:51
their lives
29:51
they know what’s best for them i’m this
29:53
j i’m i’m just there to get the
29:55
government out of the way
29:56
that’s it this
29:59
is what yes i was going to say literally
30:02
greatest answer
30:07
this is what you want to hear from
30:09
elected officials
30:10
i don’t know how you should live your
30:12
life i think you should live your life
30:14
i’m going to stay out of it as much as
30:16
possible i am not an expert in how you
30:18
should live your life
30:19
you should live your life here’s your
30:20
money back here’s your power back here’s
30:22
your freedom to make
30:23
decisions back go live your life and uh
30:25
and and go be well and i’m gonna not
30:27
create problems for you in the meantime
30:30
yeah absolutely and and you know
30:32
disagree i think disagreeing is an
30:35
excellent thing to have have some
30:36
disagreement um
30:38
let’s pick on ourselves in a respectful
30:40
manner let’s pick things apart let’s
30:42
find out you know hey guess what i’m a
30:44
human i’m wrong a lot of times
30:46
point out where i’m wrong do it in a
30:48
respectful way figure out where i’m
30:50
wrong let’s move forward and sometimes
30:52
you’re going to be wrong let’s point it
30:53
out in a respectful way and let’s move
30:55
forward
30:55
there’s no reason for this i i can’t
30:58
continually hear
30:59
how the council members want respect
31:02
on the council yet none of them have
31:04
showed me
31:05
an ounce of respect because guess what
31:08
i’m not in the club and you know what
31:10
if i’m gonna die in a hill i’m gonna die
31:12
on the hill of
31:14
lowering taxes 50 on property and uh
31:17
defending the second amendment
31:19
come and take it yep i i agree this is
31:23
this is why i now want you to run for
31:26
governor
31:26
no i listen this is this is no this is
31:29
great this is good stuff and this is
31:31
what we need
31:32
folks when i talk about when matt talks
31:33
about when we talk about running
31:35
libertarians at the local level
31:37
we’re talking about folks like cole who
31:40
are passionate about just serving the
31:43
people
31:44
in his or you know if it’s someone if
31:46
it’s a woman in her district
31:47
in their districts in their cities and
31:49
their counties wherever
31:51
and just protecting your rights and
31:54
trying to claw back some of what’s been
31:55
stolen from you
31:56
um this is what we can do if there were
31:59
two
32:00
or three more libertarians there with
32:01
coal if they were like matt said if
32:02
there were even one more he’d get a
32:04
second they’d have to vote on it and
32:05
you’d have to see
32:06
them be on the record for whether they
32:08
wanted to cut taxes and
32:10
and you know protect your right to keep
32:11
and bear arms if there were a few more
32:13
on there
32:14
then it would actually happen right you
32:16
would have at least had the transparency
32:17
where the
32:18
where it was read and the people could
32:20
have heard it
32:21
yes why do they want to hide it i’ll
32:25
tell you this in tennessee we’re making
32:27
waves um we’ve got two council members
32:30
out in
32:30
clarksville uh joshua and uh trisha
32:34
butler
32:34
are counting right over from me we have
32:37
a mayor stephen chambers as the mayor of
32:39
the county
32:40
awesome guy libertarian my wife is on
32:42
the county commission
32:44
here in smith county so uh but again we
32:47
just need more people to step up and if
32:48
more people step up and get involved and
32:50
say hey i want to step up to serve
32:52
not to tell you what to do but just to
32:54
represent and and and
32:56
uh this isn’t a this isn’t a huge job to
32:59
just represent make some small decisions
33:01
that’s all we need that’s amazing it col
33:04
how can people help you not just uh well
33:07
with this
33:08
with this situation to try to get some
33:10
movement in the council and just in
33:11
general how can people reach out to you
33:13
how can they find out how they can help
33:14
because i’ve had so many people contact
33:16
me
33:16
after i shared that video saying you
33:18
know how can people reach out and how
33:20
can they help you
33:22
honestly the best thing that could
33:23
happen it really does come from a local
33:25
level
33:25
um the citizens of carthage are the are
33:28
the
33:29
best help i could get um if they can
33:31
show up to the meetings during the
33:32
citizens comments
33:33
um that would be extremely helpful as
33:36
far as
33:37
statewide or nationwide i mean honestly
33:40
um i’m a blessed man um everything else
33:44
is going great in my life um i you know
33:46
i’m not
33:46
i have no aspirations for anything
33:48
except to grow cannabis run a tavern and
33:50
watch my kids grow up and and just serve
33:53
my country where i can
33:54
um and that’s pretty much where i’m at
33:58
you know um i mean if something comes up
33:59
with help down the road
34:01
sure but right now i’m exactly where i
34:03
want to be
34:05
and i just i just want people to be more
34:08
transparent i want people just to ask
34:10
more questions and
34:11
and get involved here’s how they can
34:12
help get involved in your local area get
34:15
involved in your
34:16
in your local government um we are going
34:19
to make more of an impact at the local
34:21
level than we are at the state level
34:23
than we are at the federal level yes
34:25
there are areas that we need to bring
34:26
attention to
34:27
and speak out and be figureheads but the
34:30
biggest
34:30
impact we can have is at the local level
34:34
okay i want you to run for president now
34:36
like right now
34:38
just start now just start just do it
34:40
just
34:41
just do it don’t even think about it
34:42
just do it i know as soon as i hear
34:45
someone say listen
34:46
i don’t want to be involved i just want
34:48
to
34:49
raise my fear i’m like run for president
34:50
right now like this is this is who we
34:52
need like we need
34:54
it’s ironic that the very people that we
34:56
want uh to be in office are the ones who
34:58
don’t want to be in office
34:59
um and unfortunately it’s the ones that
35:01
do want to be in office that are often
35:03
the ones that we don’t want in office
35:05
but
35:05
hey colt thank you so much for coming on
35:07
we’re going to continue to beat this
35:08
drum
35:09
on on accountability not just in
35:11
carthage but in cities and counties and
35:13
municipalities around the
35:14
country and we’re just so happy to have
35:16
had you on
35:18
hey thanks guys i appreciate all y’all
35:20
do and and keeping the
35:21
the torch of liberty alive anything you
35:23
all need from me just let me know
35:25
run for president run for president
35:29
thank you man thank you so much man
35:33
this is what libertarian elected
35:35
officials look like
35:36
yes yes every every libertarian elected
35:40
official
35:41
that i have ever met um that i’ve ever
35:45
known or
35:45
i’ve ever met has been
35:49
being like they’ve been cold
35:52
they’ve been cold they don’t want power
35:55
they just
35:56
want you to have your power back we’re
35:58
about to do a show where we’re going to
35:59
talk about a bunch of schmucks
36:01
doing schmucky stuff and robbing you by
36:04
billions of dollars and making your life
36:06
miserable and killing people around the
36:08
world and putting people in cages here
36:11
and then we’ve got libertarians we got
36:12
folks like cole who want to undo
36:14
all that even if it’s just in their
36:16
local city and they don’t have any
36:18
aspirations for power
36:19
cole just wants to run his farm he just
36:21
wants to have he has a tavern too evil’s
36:23
tavern
36:24
uh and he wants to raise his family he
36:26
wants to see his kids grow he just wants
36:28
to be left alone and he wants you to be
36:30
left alone
36:31
and he wants you to be able to be free
36:33
this these are the kind of folks that we
36:35
need
36:35
they are ambitious for power they’re
36:37
ambitious to take the power back and
36:39
give it back to you
36:41
and uh if that didn’t inspire you uh
36:44
to um to get more involved locally with
36:47
with your party and
36:48
and and not just with your party but
36:50
with any you know liberty movements
36:52
or any kind of liberty adjacent thing
36:53
that’s happening in your local area
36:55
then frankly i don’t even need to do my
36:57
my get involved tap dance that i was
36:59
going to do because that’s nowhere near
37:00
as inspiring
37:01
as what cole just said i mean i’ll still
37:04
do it
37:08
i don’t really have a room here i’m not
37:09
gonna do it
37:12
did you see the thing about a fundraiser
37:14
where uh you’re
37:17
supposed to do the single ladies dance
37:22
no wait what is
37:27
is who’s who started this
37:32
i it was either brett robertson
37:36
and or brent de ritter i don’t really
37:38
remember which one
37:39
um it’s in order to raise money for
37:44
something i have no intention of buying
37:48
yet
37:51
somebody said this about the oreo cookie
37:54
no
37:55
no somebody said i need to put a ring on
37:56
it and i said
37:58
uh i can’t afford that and they said you
38:00
must be getting rich off muddied waters
38:02
and i said
38:03
well let me see three months salary
38:08
i’ll get her a ring pop um and they said
38:11
you should
38:12
hold a fundraiser and i said yeah and if
38:15
we raise enough for a mack daddy ring
38:16
spike will do the single ladies dance oh
38:18
for sarah for super fan sarah and direct
38:20
their super fan zariandra yeah i’ll do
38:22
that i’ll do that i’ll even get a glove
38:24
and do the whole thing
38:26
but then you gotta marry her so i’ll
38:28
definitely do that
38:30
i mean i won’t like marry or marry her
38:32
no i mean you gotta marry her no you
38:33
know you gotta marry her
38:34
no i’m not i’m not asking the government
38:36
for permission to marry her
38:37
you have to well i know you don’t have
38:39
to ask the government’s permission but
38:40
you have to do a thing
38:41
in front of god oh like oh yeah in a
38:43
civil unioner yeah i could do that
38:47
okay then you should have yeah i’ll
38:49
dance for that uh joe makes drifts uh
38:51
don’t made a
38:52
very generous donation thank you joe and
38:54
said hey speaking of governors anyone
38:56
know if michigan has a libertarian
38:57
candidate for 2022.
38:59
they do not yet but they will um they
39:01
are actually going to have their
39:03
convention
39:03
uh in late june um june 26th and 27th i
39:07
believe
39:08
in uh in uh gosh we’re in michigan i
39:11
think grand rapids michigan i can look
39:12
it up i’m going to be there um so i’ll
39:14
actually be at it it’s funny that i
39:16
don’t know where things are that i’m
39:17
going to be at
39:18
that’s how that’s what my schedule is
39:19
like now um
39:21
they will be on june 26 and 27
39:26
in doesn’t say where uh it’s but it’s i
39:29
believe
39:29
i want to say grand rapids michigan but
39:31
they may have had to move it i know
39:32
thanks to gretchen whitmer the current
39:35
governor it’s very hard to do an event
39:37
in june she’s still there huh
39:40
she’s still there and two months after
39:43
what is expected to be heard immunity
39:45
due to the vaccinations she’s still
39:47
planning on totally locking things down
39:50
and maybe even making it more strict in
39:52
june when the sun comes out
39:54
and it’s less likely to spread because
39:56
she’s really smart
39:58
so we’ll see but that they’re planning
40:00
on having their convention on the 26th
40:02
and 27th and it will be at the
40:03
convention that they pick their nominees
40:05
and and
40:05
including the gubernatorial nominee and
40:07
i will be there so
40:09
uh go get in touch with michigan lp and
40:11
uh sign up to be at their convention
40:13
and come see me i’ll be there hey i
40:16
don’t know why that was so low energy
40:18
right now but
40:19
i’ll be there because it’s a mission
40:26
i love michigan i love michigan i would
40:29
not want to go there right now
40:32
i haven’t ever i wasn’t it’s been a
40:34
great time it’s just
40:35
with gretchen whitmer being there i
40:37
would not want to go there because i
40:38
don’t want to
40:39
give any tax dollars to gretchen whitmer
40:41
yeah but what we’re going to do is we’re
40:43
going to basically defy all of her
40:44
orders on a native reservation
40:46
so it’s going to be pretty it’s going to
40:48
be like the most michigan
40:50
the two biggest things you can do uh
40:52
anti-government things you can do there
40:54
are
40:55
go to a native reservation and defy the
40:56
orders and uh go to flint
40:59
and uh and uh dunk on the uh on the
41:02
flint and michigan government uh in
41:05
front of the flint water
41:06
building which is what i did last year
41:08
on the bus tour
41:10
so i will have done the two most
41:12
anti-government libertarian things you
41:13
can do
41:14
in michigan that are well i mean that
41:16
are legal
41:17
i guess so uh
41:21
speaking of things that one
41:24
can do that are legal
41:28
we’re now doing our next segment which
41:30
of course is the uh black cold brewed
41:32
caffeinated ca
41:33
rapid fire segment brought to you by
41:35
black cold brewed organic coffee spelled
41:38
blvck
41:39
because who the hell cares how things
41:40
are spelled anymore black is the most
41:42
delicious cold brewed organic coffee to
41:45
be horrifically misspelled
41:47
uh if you go to blackroo’s blvck
41:50
brews.com
41:51
you can use code mw for free shipping
41:56
matt yes so uh many of you
42:00
out there uh in the muddied verse um
42:03
are watching this right now
42:07
on facebook i’m so sorry
42:10
i feel so bad for you um you know you
42:12
must not like
42:13
clarity um
42:18
in your videos in your videos
42:22
oh i see what you did yeah no that’s
42:24
yeah that’s what you meant
42:26
now facebook is trying to compete
42:30
with uh with other platforms like twitch
42:33
and youtube and
42:34
other places where you can give
42:36
donations to
42:38
streamers um and they have a policy
42:40
called facebook stars
42:42
now i just want to let you know we will
42:46
am i over in your section yeah i don’t
42:48
know what happened there hold on
42:49
i’ll fix that just keep saying things we
42:52
will never
42:53
ever ever apply for facebook stars
42:56
ever and we are going to tell you or ask
42:59
you we’re not going to tell you you can
43:00
do whatever you want
43:01
um never ask
43:04
us to uh accept them because we won’t
43:07
and uh just don’t ever give them out to
43:10
anybody
43:10
and the reason is for every star
43:15
that you give like let’s say you were
43:16
giving them to us because who else would
43:18
you really be giving them to
43:20
right for every star that you give us we
43:22
get a penny
43:24
that means that you can just fast blast
43:26
like just star star star star and i’m
43:28
certain it like comes up and
43:29
shows on the facebook app uh for those
43:32
of you who are still allowed to use it
43:34
but
43:34
i’m not um but it you’re
43:38
not at all bitter not bitter even
43:41
remotely
43:42
you kicked me off you you banned me
43:44
permanently i got back on
43:46
and then you took away my app took away
43:48
my and then now i and i wasn’t allowed
43:50
to live stream until like i think
43:52
uh two to three days from now that i’m
43:54
allowed to live stream again
43:56
um so you can just like fast blast a
43:59
bunch of stars
44:00
and uh it probably looks cooler i’m not
44:02
sure but
44:03
let’s say you get 250 stars to give us
44:06
we’ll get two dollars and fifty cents
44:09
two dollars and fifty cents but those
44:11
250 stars cost you
44:13
7.99 i was gonna say eight dollars
44:16
and just round it up and i didn’t want
44:19
to do that because i don’t want somebody
44:20
to be like well that’s not right
44:22
but yeah 7.99 by 250 stars
44:27
to give to us so they’re basically
44:30
they’re keeping like
44:33
over two-thirds yeah
44:36
that’s quite that’s a hell of a merchant
44:38
fee folks like
44:39
usually like paypal’s fee is what three
44:42
percent
44:44
one it’s it’s one it’s one percent if
44:47
you do like the automatic cash out if
44:49
it’s the merchant fee like if they’re
44:50
giving us money and saying it’s for a
44:53
good or a service uh yeah it’s three
44:55
percent i think
44:56
and so steven whit in the comments is
44:58
saying what you need to do
45:00
go to anchor anchor dot fm
45:07
and you can make donations there if you
45:09
want to
45:10
or you can also leave a message you can
45:12
go and you can leave a message
45:14
and we play him during that segment that
45:16
we do later i’m not going to say it yet
45:17
because you know that’s the segment we
45:19
do later
45:19
um but yeah don’t do we aren’t going to
45:22
sign up for stars
45:23
it’s a total screwing of of you
45:26
uh you are thinking that you’re helping
45:29
us and we’re getting fractions
45:31
and facebook gets to keep like almost
45:34
three quarters of it
45:35
it’s stupid like it’s dumb and them
45:39
and knowing facebook they would hold on
45:42
to the money for
45:43
30 days or whatever which i get because
45:45
you know that’s
45:46
pretty standard twitch does it youtube
45:47
does they’ll do it but then
45:49
we would get kicked off of facebook
45:52
because we’re only one strike away
45:54
um but we would get kicked off of
45:57
facebook and then they would just keep
45:58
the money
45:59
and you would have spent all of your
46:01
money and given it straight to facebook
46:03
to facebook which is in the process of
46:05
silencing
46:06
libertarian voices slowly which is why
46:08
we’re branching out to all these other
46:10
media outlets that we’re using where
46:14
yeah so in general go like
46:17
follow us on youtube and twitter it’s
46:19
better there anyway
46:20
and also and on float float dot app
46:23
slash muddy waters media
46:25
um and and obviously if you’re listening
46:27
to this on the on the podcast but yeah
46:29
go to anchor dot fm don’t
46:31
don’t do the facebook stars it’s just
46:33
garbage
46:35
if you’re like i don’t want or just
46:36
paypal yeah if you don’t want to do the
46:38
monthly subscription thing
46:40
muddy waters muddiedwatersmedia
46:41
gmail.com via paypal
46:44
however much you want to send us and if
46:46
you do it on tuesdays before seven
46:47
o’clock
46:48
it will say this show is brought to you
46:50
by whoever paypals us the most money on
46:52
tuesday
46:53
yeah so make that’s your big day is
46:56
tuesday
46:58
it’s the see you next tuesday donation
47:01
and the again if we
47:06
i mean we still have this thing going if
47:08
we raise 900 dollars
47:09
in between the two episodes i will hit
47:11
myself with a hot dog that i form out of
47:13
sam and me
47:14
so i mean i don’t know how that hasn’t
47:16
happened yet but whatever
47:18
like that’s a legit thing that you could
47:20
choose our skyline libertarian asks if
47:23
you are if we are on me we
47:24
are you know more about that so we do
47:27
have a me we page
47:28
um we don’t post a lot there but there
47:31
is a very
47:32
active chat on miwi um that is a lot of
47:35
fun
47:36
uh you will either get really great
47:40
uh libertarian discussion or you will
47:42
get overly overly
47:44
personal conversations about anybody in
47:46
theirs lives
47:47
and yes that includes mine
47:51
well i know i want to tune in much to
47:54
super fan sarah anderegg’s dismay
47:57
oh i’m sure so yeah we are on me we but
48:00
yeah don’t do stars
48:02
the paypal us muddy waters media
48:04
gmail.com
48:05
on uh on paypal buddy
48:08
don’t do stars in general just don’t do
48:10
it facebook
48:12
just help people directly like if you
48:14
find out what their paypal or their
48:16
their venmo or their whatever is go
48:19
give them money where they get most of
48:21
it not not this other nonsense
48:23
um speaking of uh something that makes
48:26
you want to throw money
48:28
uh something really incredible happened
48:30
in a church in
48:31
calgary alberta uh there is a
48:34
church there um with a pastor named
48:37
artur pawlowski
48:38
who is from poland and has some
48:40
experience dealing with
48:41
authoritarian regimes so he moved to
48:43
canada because i guess he
48:45
just didn’t want to give up on that and
48:48
so
48:48
uh as you probably know canada is really
48:51
really really
48:52
really really really really locked down
48:54
like really like
48:55
really locked down like locked like
48:58
locked down
49:00
locked like we way more than here
49:03
and oddly enough cove it’s spreading
49:05
every bit as rapidly there as it is here
49:07
wonder of wonders
49:08
and uh it’s almost like lockdowns don’t
49:11
work but anyway
49:12
he was having a uh a passover service in
49:15
his church
49:16
and the police showed up because they
49:17
were upset that he had
49:19
i think like 15 20 people there and
49:22
that’s illegal
49:24
how many i don’t i don’t know they were
49:26
just people there were just people
49:27
people there were people gathering a
49:29
building for a holy day of theirs
49:32
and police didn’t like that so they
49:33
gathered there too because it’s okay
49:35
when a bunch of cops show up
49:36
but not normal people that’s dangerous
49:40
so here’s what the pastor did this is
49:42
just fanta
49:43
this is what the pastor did please get
49:45
out get out of this property
49:47
immediately get out get out
49:50
of this property immediately out i don’t
49:53
want to hear anything
49:54
out of this property immediately
50:00
out of this property immediately until
50:03
you come back with a warrant out out
50:08
out out out
50:12

50:16
immediately go out and don’t come back
50:19
do i don’t want to talk to you not the
50:21
word out of this
50:23
out of this property immediately out
50:26
i don’t care what you have to say out
50:30
out out of this property your nazis
50:34
out out gestapo is not allowed here
50:40
immediately gestapo is not
50:43
allowed out
50:47
do you understand english get out of
50:50
this property
50:52
go so go go and don’t come back without
50:55
the warrant
50:56
out nazi out out
51:01
your descent nazis are not welcome here
51:04
out and don’t come back without a
51:07
warrant
51:08
do not come back without a warrant you
51:10
understand that
51:11
you’re not welcome here nazis are not
51:13
welcome here
51:22
that is just fantastic that’s pretty
51:25
incredible
51:26
that’s fantastic i when i made that
51:28
video um
51:30
the other night i played it like 15
51:31
times it’s it’s
51:33
it’s i hate to call it like liberty porn
51:37
because it’s a church and that’s like
51:40
not really appropriate but man
51:44
i mean it doesn’t get better than a
51:45
pastor screaming at the police and
51:47
and a city worker saying get out of my
51:51
private property get out
51:54
out nazi that’s just
51:58
get out get you right here
52:05
of canadian pastors this is
52:09
incredible also uh a uh
52:13
continuing to uh update the church or
52:16
the police have not
52:18
come back yet um so where she said that
52:20
they can easily get a warrant
52:22
turns out not that easily
52:27
well you know that was on saturday
52:30
passover
52:31
because it was over service on saturday
52:33
and then easter so
52:35
courts are closed and then easter monday
52:39
so but today’s tuesday today is tuesday
52:42
so
52:43
like they probably put in the request
52:44
this morning um
52:47
we’ll see what’s this uh
52:51
go ahead so
52:55
joe hackman distracted me when he said
52:57
that he saw the late slide back into
52:58
frame
53:02
yeah yeah matt tried to pull one on all
53:04
of you thinking
53:05
that he watched it too but he didn’t he
53:07
didn’t care um
53:08
it’s a a very interesting elizabeth
53:10
cokeyard who’s in indiana says uh
53:12
we have an lp pastor libertarian party
53:15
pastor
53:15
running for senate exploratory committee
53:17
and he gets to preaching when condemning
53:18
the lockdowns it’s great
53:20
it’s great to have a pastor uh they have
53:22
a different energy level
53:23
uh when they’re when they’re breaking
53:24
stuff down and uh uh we saw that with
53:27
ricky harrington
53:28
in uh in arkansas i i love it i love it
53:31
um
53:31
so yeah so so far no actions taken
53:34
by these peaceful church people getting
53:37
together for a holiday
53:38
i mean can you imagine 2018 or 2019 i
53:42
tell you that in canada
53:43
it’s going to be illegal uh to go uh
53:46
see to gather with other people in a in
53:49
a building
53:50
um because of a virus that has been
53:53
demonstrated
53:55
cannot be slowed the spread of by
53:57
forcing everyone to stay home
53:59
because that’s actually how viruses tend
54:02
to spread during cold and flu season is
54:04
everyone staying home
54:06
did if i had told you that what would
54:08
you probably i would think would go
54:11
you lying troll you just doesn’t make
54:14
sense
54:15
how dare you and i’ll say and i’m gonna
54:16
fix this by running
54:18
for the libertarian party vice
54:20
presidential nomination
54:22
and you go until that and the pig’s eye
54:24
that’ll happen right
54:25
and i go no no i’m going to actually get
54:27
it and win and then i’m going to travel
54:29
across the country
54:30
as the and then we’re going to come in
54:32
third i’m going to come in third for
54:33
vice president
54:34
me spike cohen and then you’re going to
54:36
go shut up this is all stupid and i
54:38
think that you’re using drugs again
54:40
but here we are folks now which part of
54:43
everything i just said was more
54:44
horrifying
54:46
but if you were using drugs it would be
54:48
nuts
54:50
yes if i were using drugs i would go to
54:53
nug of knowledge dot com well mimo
54:55
that’s not drugs it’s not drugs
54:57
it’s not drugs drugs it’s cannabis
55:00
it’s a medicine but not a drug medicine
55:04
a medicine medicine nuggetknowledge.com
55:07
use checkout code spike for 10 off your
55:09
weed
55:11
and you can go to uh
55:13
cumberlandcannabisco.com
55:14
for tennessee cbd products
55:18
from cole evil incidentally
55:21
fun fact uh
55:25
it’s illegal um for the police to test
55:28
cannabi hemp sorry not cannabis hemp cbd
55:31
hemp
55:31
for thc levels right now because the
55:33
court throughout their testing standards
55:35
so um if you just advertise your product
55:39
as
55:40
cbd
55:43
you can just do that yeah
55:46
brett robertson wants to know if we’re
55:48
gonna have uh if we
55:51
collectively are gonna try to have ricky
55:53
dale harrington jr on to talk about his
55:55
governor’s race
55:56
uh that is a question for
56:00
somebody else that’s yeah question oh
56:02
wait that question for brian lambrecht
56:04
that’s a question for brian
56:05
we don’t have a stephen but we do have a
56:07
brian and uh
56:08
that would be a question for him but
56:10
we’d be happy to have him on um
56:13
we would love to have ricky first of all
56:15
i love ricky i got to hang out with him
56:16
in person when i went to
56:18
arkansas during his during our
56:20
respective campaigns and we had a really
56:22
cool
56:22
um uh we had a really cool panel
56:26
on criminal justice reform and ricky
56:28
dale harrington
56:29
uh isn’t just you know a lot of people
56:31
recognize him as being a pastor but he
56:33
was a prison chaplain
56:34
uh and uh he got to see firsthand what
56:37
the prison systems are like in arkansas
56:39
which has
56:40
i believe for it’s if it’s not the
56:42
highest it’s definitely one of the
56:44
highest incarceration rates
56:46
in the u.s which itself has the highest
56:48
incarceration rate
56:50
uh in the planet um and
56:53
that means that arkansas is like the
56:56
most likely place for someone to go to
56:58
prison and
56:59
so he definitely has a lot of experience
57:01
when it comes to that we’d love to have
57:02
him on
57:03
um let’s see so speaking of
57:12
people shouting into the ether
57:16
alexandra ocasio-cortez she was recently
57:18
rated
57:19
uh the most something something
57:22
something right matt
57:24
yeah she was recently rated as the 230th
57:28
most effective democratic member of the
57:31
house of representatives
57:34
out of 240 230 out of 240.
57:40
worse than her ineffectiveness yeah
57:42
another way to say that is she’s one of
57:44
the
57:45
10 least effective
57:48
democrats in the uh in the house of
57:51
representatives
57:52
she has introduced a total of 21
57:54
substantive bills
57:56
that did not receive substantial backing
57:58
from other lawmakers
58:00
uh including committee and floor votes
58:02
uh there was a study done by
58:04
uh vanderbilt university in the
58:05
university of virginia
58:07
um that did not stop her from saying
58:10
that this new
58:11
2.25 trillion dollar infrastructure bill
58:14
uh was about as substantive as her work
58:16
in the house
58:17
by saying that it needs to be more even
58:20
though
58:20
they didn’t do the things she said
58:22
because she’s
58:24
not she’s in the the bottom 10. she’s in
58:27
the bottom 10. she’s in the bottom
58:30
10. let’s be clear to speak chris
58:34
reynolds lingo
58:35
yes if this was
58:41
the soccer that he watches the european
58:44
league soccer that he watches
58:46
she will be relegated to the lower
58:48
league
58:50
at her effectiveness the way we say it
58:53
in america that cares about freedom
58:56
and guns and mom and apple pie
58:59
she’d be in the single a teams
59:02
because we watch baseball i actually
59:04
don’t watch baseball
59:06
yeah but we’re going to talk about it
59:08
talk about it
59:09
we’re definitely going to talk about it
59:11
there’s a there’s a foreshadowing there
59:13
um aoc’s role is not to actually pass
59:16
anything aoc’s role is to convince
59:18
progressives that they aren’t being
59:19
screwed by the democrats in the same way
59:21
that you know and uh
59:23
here i go thomas massey uh and and other
59:26
liberty republicans their job and other
59:28
constitutional conservative republicans
59:30
uh their job is to say stuff that makes
59:33
libertarians and conservatives think
59:34
that they’re not being screwed over by
59:36
the republican party
59:37
it’s all a sham you’re being conned um
59:40
and just to prove it aoc uh was recently
59:42
in a video
59:43
where she was called out for not being
59:45
nearly as forceful
59:47
in uh in her condemnation of joe biden
59:49
who is putting more kids in cages
59:52
than trump is and who is continuing to
59:54
build the wall
59:55
at a faster pace than trump did and she
59:57
said yeah
59:58
no i’ve tweeted a couple times that was
60:00
bad
60:02
so yeah no that’s controlled opposition
60:04
there if
60:06
if you hear somebody using the word
60:08
surge they’re
60:09
trying to equate it to insurgency
60:13
and invoke a militaristic idea
60:17
these are children yeah no yeah yeah
60:20
yeah
60:20
that’s a good way of condemning joe
60:21
biden without ever mentioning that he’s
60:23
doing
60:24
that speaking of which
60:27
matt i heard that joe biden is uh going
60:30
to be
60:31
restarting construction on that wall
60:34
that he said he would not build
60:36
one more mile of that was his work
60:39
that’s right
60:40
yes um a lot of people in the comments
60:43
have actually been
60:44
mentioning this throughout the show
60:47
but yes uh according to
60:53
man i really should put that guy’s name
60:54
in there um
60:57
oh the homeland security director yes
61:01
whose name is blanking on completely was
61:03
it not plinking
61:04
in that plinky no hold on lincoln is a
61:08
secretary of uh
61:09
state i think ah
61:14
i am majorcase alejandros mayorkas
61:18
the first the first hispanic man
61:22
to be in charge of the mass caging
61:24
operation of the federal government
61:26
it’s real inclusive pluralism that’s
61:30
happening
61:31
on this wall we believe that black lives
61:34
matter
61:35
science is science climate change is
61:38
real
61:39
all people have rights that’s what we
61:41
believe on this wall
61:43
paying for the wall is the black lives
61:46
matter’s paying for a portion of it and
61:48
yes climate change is paying for a
61:50
portion of it this is sponsorship
61:52
yeah accord according to mayorkis he
61:55
said the president has communicated
61:57
communicated quite clearly his decision
62:00
that the emergency that triggered the
62:02
devotion
62:02
of department of defense funds to the
62:05
construction of the border wall
62:07
is ended but that leaves room to make
62:09
decisions as the administration as part
62:12
of the administration
62:13
in particular areas of the wall that
62:15
need renovation particularly
62:17
particular projects that need to be
62:20
finished
62:21
which means they are going to finish
62:23
building the wall
62:27
it’s a slight change of course
62:31
from when biden of course said
62:34
hypothetically
62:36
he said building a massive wall that
62:38
spans the entire southern border
62:40
is not a serious policy solution it is a
62:42
waste of money that diverts attention
62:44
from genuine threats to our homeland
62:46
security
62:46
and then he later said he would not
62:48
build one mile
62:50
more and what he really meant is i’m
62:51
gonna build hundreds
62:53
of miles more i am going to
62:58
watch as many people attempt to get into
63:01
this country
63:02
who i am not going to allow in
63:06
and then i can’t say that we need to
63:08
build this wall
63:10
yeah and nobody is going to call me
63:14
on this crap except ted cruz
63:18
which i love did ted cruz call him on it
63:21
well uh he made the video showing
63:24
showing what’s happening
63:25
i was like oh oh and the wall thing
63:26
probably not no no
63:29
no yeah uh my question is
63:32
and i posted this in the uh muddied
63:34
waters groups on mewi and facebook today
63:37
how long is it and how many republicans
63:39
are gonna say
63:40
we don’t need this wall this wall will
63:43
keep people
63:44
in and how many democrats are now going
63:46
to say
63:47
that’s kind of necessary we kind of need
63:50
it right now we kind of need to keep
63:51
them out you know
63:52
it’s keeping wages low i i’m waiting for
63:56
bernie sanders to make the
63:58
go ahead this would be one of the
63:59
quickest flips
64:01
of parties ever
64:04
yeah it’s gonna happen because the
64:08
neo-liberal foreign policy includes
64:10
tight restrictions
64:12
on the borders in order to prop up the
64:15
smuggling cartels that are involved in
64:18
uh intelligence agency clandestine
64:21
operations
64:22
and by the way when i’m saying this i
64:23
know that sounds very tin foil hat all
64:25
of this has been exposed
64:26
multiple times over the years this is
64:28
all public information
64:30
there’s nothing they’re not even trying
64:31
to hide it anymore but the reality is
64:33
they
64:33
want people to come here illegally
64:36
because a
64:37
the big businesses that hire them uh pay
64:39
less when
64:40
it’s illegal because then they don’t
64:41
have to match their social security and
64:43
their
64:43
uh their uh uh health insurance they
64:46
just make the small businesses do that
64:48
they don’t have to do that and b uh it
64:50
actually props up the cartels
64:52
uh that they’re trying to keep in power
64:54
in mexico and in
64:55
latin america that are taking over those
64:57
countries and leading to the unrest and
64:59
political violence that’s causing so
65:00
many people to flee here
65:02
in the first place it’s almost like
65:04
that’s exactly what they want
65:05
and the whole time they play americans
65:07
against each other you either have to
65:09
believe in strong protections for the
65:11
american people or you have to believe
65:13
in protecting the human rights of people
65:14
trying to come here and build a better
65:16
life
65:16
and at no point are we allowed to
65:18
acknowledge the fact that republicans
65:19
and democrats are working together to
65:22
create this mess
65:23
and then capitalize on it on both sides
65:25
of the border
65:30
i cannot wait for biden to have to
65:32
answer one question about the wall
65:36
i mean we’ve seen how he answers things
65:39
he goes
65:39
it’s important that when you really
65:41
believe in something
65:43
that you you gotta um uh then
65:46
and what happens then is you have to um
65:50
well well anyway do you you need to have
65:54
like
65:54
you know you gotta you gotta have the
65:55
notebook
65:59
on my notebooks over there and again see
66:02
that’s why
66:03
you got to have the biden book got it
66:06
the the wall the wall when when trump
66:10
when trump wanted the wall it was it was
66:14
bad bad bad and now
66:18
is you see the situation situations have
66:20
changed
66:21
look look come on come on man look
66:24
situations they’re different now
66:26
trump’s wall was a bad dude
66:30
this is that dude now thankfully joe
66:32
biden did come out
66:33
with a a very strong clarification of
66:36
his border wall policy that i think will
66:38
uh
66:38
uh cons a lot of the people that are
66:40
concerned in the comments about the
66:41
hypocrisy here
66:42
i think that this will greatly um
66:45
ameliorate
66:46
your concerns and i had a nurse at uh
66:49
nurses at walter reed hospital who would
66:53
bend down and whisper in my ear and
66:56
go home and get me pillows they would
66:58
make sure they’d actually probably
67:00
nothing ever taught
67:01
in uh you can’t do it in the covert time
67:03
but they’d actually breathe in my
67:05
nostrils to make me
67:06
move to get me moving
67:09
it’s powerful so powerful powerful stuff
67:13
there from
67:14
glad he could resolve that for everyone
67:18
powerful stuff from the president of the
67:20
united states
67:22
of america um now speaking of
67:26
things that are kind of dumb and
67:29
speaking of
67:30
giant cartels yeah giant oh wow
67:33
speaking of giant government-backed
67:35
cartels
67:37
matt yeah the mlb uh has decided
67:40
to move the all-star game from atlanta
67:44
to denver in protest of the voting law
67:46
in georgia
67:47
that the mlb is calling racist
67:51
and in their protest
67:54
of this racist law yes they
67:57
are moving the all-star game which will
68:00
bring an estimated 100
68:02
million in revenue to the city of which
68:05
it will be played in
68:07
from the 51 black populated atlanta
68:11
to the 76 white populated
68:15
denver in this overwhelmingly white
68:18
city we believe that black lives matter
68:21
science is real climate change also real
68:25
black people i’m not actually really
68:27
concerned about them
68:28
uh and um whatever the newest
68:32
pander is we believe that as well here
68:36
in denver
68:37
i’m actually going to be in denver in
68:38
april so i probably shouldn’t um
68:41
bash the entire city of denver uh
68:44
this is um the people that you the
68:46
people
68:48
the people who are watching this show
68:49
and who are coming to see you understand
68:51
you are not referring to
68:52
them no god no not you
68:56
those other foolish rubes that are out
68:58
there
68:59
they make me sick but not you you’re the
69:00
good one um
69:02
this is they’re moving it from georgia a
69:04
state where they passed the law
69:05
requiring voting id
69:07
and making it a misdemeanor um to give
69:11
water to people with 125 feet of a
69:13
voting location
69:14
to colorado a state where they have
69:17
voter id
69:18
and where it’s also against the law to
69:20
give water to people within
69:22
100 feet of a voting location also
69:25
they’re way more white that’s 25 feet 25
69:30
feet that’s all the difference
69:33
yeah that’s that’s the important that’s
69:35
that is the difference between
69:38
giving a hundred million dollars in
69:39
revenue to a city
69:42
versus not that 25 feet
69:45
yeah they’re taking money out of black
69:47
owned
69:48
black hands and black owned businesses
69:50
hands to give to white people
69:53
because they allow people to get water
69:55
within 25 feet closer
69:57
the voting location still have voter id
69:59
though incidentally um
70:00
right there’s also been a lot of talk
70:02
about the
70:04
go ahead uh in in in early in early
70:07
voting or absentee
70:08
voting uh you still have to do signature
70:10
checks in colorado which you now have to
70:12
do in georgia and you have to do id
70:14
in uh colorado show id for early voting
70:18
uh which you now have to do in georgia
70:20
so
70:24
this
70:27
is pandering yeah virtue signaling yeah
70:30
virtue signaling yeah this is virtue
70:32
signaling and pandering
70:33
at the worst level because they
70:35
literally
70:38
come out looking so much more racist
70:40
than what they are actually
70:44
yeah this is this is like when the
70:48
uh the uh studios and sports leagues
70:51
pulled out of north carolina over the
70:53
transgender
70:54
uh bathroom bill uh but continue to do
70:57
business
70:58
in countries where being homosexual is
71:01
or trans is
71:02
a death penalty offense where they kill
71:05
you
71:05
um and when i say they kill you i mean
71:07
they kill you right then
71:09
like you might get a brief trial but
71:11
then you’re
71:12
thrown from a building or hanged later
71:15
that day
71:16
or stoned to death yeah
71:19
because in this rock pile
71:23
uh that’s covering a dead gay person we
71:26
believe that black lives matter
71:28
climate change is real gay people should
71:31
be
71:32
hit with rocks until they’re dead
71:35
but black lives matter well unless
71:37
they’re here then we’d stone them too
71:39
right this is what um unless they’re gay
71:44
yeah no black gay no they’ll definitely
71:46
get they’ll get stoned faster
71:47
because also they’re black right that’s
71:49
a whole other subject
71:51
right this is what virtue signaling
71:55
looks like but i’ll tell you what
71:55
virtual signaling does not look like
71:58
and that is the personal injury attorney
72:00
chris reynolds attorney at law
72:01
anchor colin moment where you can
72:04
totally not virtue signal
72:06
by going to anchor dot fm slash muddied
72:09
waters
72:10
where you can leave messages for us uh
72:13
you can also donate money to us
72:15
as we said before so do that uh and you
72:17
can leave messages to us
72:19
and we will play them now during this
72:21
time that we’re playing
72:23
messages now um you do not have to leave
72:26
a donation
72:27
uh to you do not have to donate money to
72:29
leave a message or for us to play it
72:31
uh but we will like you better if you do
72:34
it
72:35
very true be sure to do that i uh
72:39
did not screen these calls this week so
72:41
yes
72:42
and all of them are from one person so i
72:45
am
72:46
terrified oh no
72:49
so we will start with the first one
72:53
why hello there guy on left and spike
72:56
and
72:57
masseurs ebbel and cohen
73:01
this is calling on the personal injury
73:03
attorney chris reynolds attorney allah
73:05
anker calling moment
73:06
oh i just wanted to take
73:10
this opportunity to wish
73:13
a very special and happy
73:17
belated birthday to
73:21
super fans sarah
73:24
[Music]
73:26
the crowd goes wild hashtag laser legend
73:30
who this show is brought to you by today
73:32
this show is brought to you by
73:34
noted superfan and farm jew sarah
73:37
andering
73:38
uh who would like you to know uh that
73:41
you are loved you are valid you are
73:44
jewish and you belong in a farm
73:49
yes it’s a fantastic woman what a
73:52
wonderful woman she
73:53
anybody who has been watching this show
73:55
for the last four years
73:57
has probably noticed the weight gain in
74:00
the last year
74:01
or so on my end and uh that is
74:04
100 her fault yeah which
74:08
she would come bursting in right now if
74:10
she was watching to be like
74:12
you look better now you were too thin
74:15
you were yeah in fact
74:18
eat now and she would bring me through
74:20
yeah and she would make you eat some
74:21
kind of delicious jewish pastry right
74:23
then
74:24
and she’d be right she would be right
74:26
she would be right
74:28
none of my pants fit anymore and it’s
74:29
annoying good because i don’t spending
74:31
money on new pants
74:32
yeah i mean you know i hate that your 26
74:35
waist pants aren’t fitting anymore
74:37
now you’re gonna have to shop in the
74:39
adult section you were too skinny
74:41
and it’s you’ve got a nice woman who’s
74:43
who’s putting some meat on your bones
74:45
you’re going to catch the death of cold
74:46
come on come inside please
74:49
i live in florida
74:53
i mean there’s a draft um
74:56
so yes happy birthday to sarah and
74:59
there’s the first one down
75:00
that one wasn’t scary that one wasn’t
75:02
terrifying at all
75:04
we’ll see what’s next
75:07
hello again guy on left and spike and
75:10
guests this is matt hicks calling it on
75:13
the
75:13
personal injury attorney chris reynolds
75:15
attorney at law anchor calling moments
75:17
to ya and we have for you today day
75:21
seven of the derek shoving trial update
75:25
and i just want to say that um
75:29
the defense attorney
75:32
tried really hard to frame it
75:36
in such a way that if a crowd is
75:39
standing around a police officer doing
75:41
something
75:43
and the crowd is doing anything other
75:44
than cheering the cop
75:46
on and telling them he’s a great cop and
75:48
doing a good job
75:50
then that’s a threat what world do we
75:54
live in
75:56
laser legend yeah uh
75:59
anybody that caught um the writer’s
76:01
block last week
76:02
on thursday matt hicks was the guest um
76:06
and he and i discussed the derek chauvin
76:09
trial for a little bit
76:11
and that is one of the
76:15
major talking points that the defense
76:17
attorney is going with
76:19
um and even on the show matt hicks i’d
76:22
i i’m gonna try to quote him correctly
76:26
um he said uh
76:30
he said that guy is slick like
76:33
super slick because and because he’s
76:36
been working on this angle for
76:37
over well about a week now and
76:41
that is his art like that’s literally
76:43
his entire argument
76:44
of if the crowd of people weren’t there
76:49
george floyd would still be alive and i
76:52
don’t mean to laugh at that but
76:54
the logic of it is
76:57
there’s a video of it
77:03
they were there saying hey you’re
77:04
killing him please stop
77:06
if you find yourself accidentally
77:09
killing someone
77:10
or in the process of accidentally
77:12
killing someone and a crowd
77:14
shows up to say hey you’re killing that
77:17
person
77:18
stop please don’t kill him no more
77:21
and you continue to look at them while
77:24
you
77:25
kill him that’s your fault
77:31
you should kind of be paying attention
77:33
to what you are doing
77:34
to what you’re doing in that moment yeah
77:37
especially
77:38
that what you’re doing is yeah if you’re
77:41
in the process of murdering yeah
77:44
as opposed to the crowd of people
77:47
that you are smugly smiling at
77:51
whilst putting your knee on the back
77:55
of some back side of somebody’s throat
78:00
and murdering
78:03
them in front of witnesses yeah i mean
78:06
so let’s be clear the job of a defense
78:08
attorney is to defend
78:10
right so we often get mad at the defense
78:12
attorney because they’re trying to
78:14
get the client off right they’re trying
78:16
to say whatever they think will stick
78:18
so i’m angry about the fact that they’re
78:22
going to fairness as libertarians
78:24
normally we’re getting mad at the
78:25
prosecuting attorneys
78:27
yes yeah yeah it is the job of a defense
78:31
attorney to defend their client and if
78:32
the client says i want to plead not
78:34
guilty then the defense attorney has to
78:36
try to go with it as much as they can um
78:38
which is why yes i’m mad that derek
78:40
chauvin has a
78:41
uh cop saying this stuff and or has an
78:44
attorney saying this stuff
78:46
or saying for example that oh well uh he
78:48
had trace amounts of
78:50
uh of drugs in his system so that’s what
78:52
killed him not the neck
78:54
not the boot on his neck nor the knee on
78:56
his neck for several minutes while he’s
78:58
uh his head is smashed up against a curb
79:02
the drugs did it now he was regularly
79:05
taking drugs but they said that suddenly
79:07
killed him in that moment when
79:08
coincidentally he was being
79:09
kneeled on this is what a defense
79:11
attorney has to do when they have a
79:13
garbage case like this
79:14
i find it absurd and the hubris
79:17
incredible to try to victim blame the
79:20
crowd
79:21
that was desperately trying to get the
79:22
cop to stop murdering george floyd
79:25
for being the reason that george floyd
79:27
was murdered that is just
79:29
ah did did you see
79:32
uh cher get raped
79:36
on the like just on the coals on twitter
79:39
no well not this time
79:43
she was she tweeted uh something about
79:47
i was talking with my mom and we were
79:49
talking about the
79:50
uh the derek chauvin trial and
79:53
she was talking about how horrible it is
79:56
and i said i know mom i wish i could
79:57
have been there because maybe things
79:59
would have been different
80:01
and she got
80:04
just dragged on twitter because
80:07
everybody oh you have the white savior
80:09
complex what would you have done that
80:10
the other people wouldn’t have done do
80:11
you think he would have listened to you
80:13
over anybody else that was screaming at
80:15
him at that time
80:17
because your chair because she wanted to
80:20
turn back time
80:23
wow that’s the whole reason you brought
80:26
that up
80:26
isn’t it 100 was for that joke
80:30
had no idea that the derek shoving thing
80:32
was going to come up in questions today
80:34
but
80:34
man i wanted to tell that joke
80:41
she said she sounds like like that
80:45
a slightly younger joe biden when she
80:47
sings um
80:50
wow yeah i know doesn’t she
80:54
if i could turn back time
80:57
if i could you know you know the thing
81:00
you know the thing
81:02
gosh oh man so
81:06
so here yes yeah let’s take our next
81:10
call super legend hicks
81:15
hello again guy on left and spike this
81:17
is
81:18
matt hicks calling in on the personal
81:19
injury attorney chris reynolds attorney
81:21
at law anchor calling moment
81:26
can we take a moment and just embrace
81:29
the irony
81:30
of mitch mcconnell criticizing
81:34
corporations for having a political
81:37
opinion
81:38
when politicians
81:42
can’t shut the f up about corporations
81:44
and businesses
81:49
the f i did not know
81:53
uh that mitch mcconnell did this
81:56
but it does not surprise me it doesn’t
81:59
surprise us
82:00
mitch mcconnell being a hypocrite get
82:02
the f
82:03
out of here matt and fix me all this
82:06
means is he’s probably mad
82:08
at a major league baseball yes majority
82:11
disagreeing with the georgia law
82:13
because if they said no we’re going to
82:14
stay he wouldn’t care
82:17
he would not care and that would be
82:19
taking a position on something political
82:22
right yeah he 100 would not care if they
82:26
were taking a position that agreed with
82:28
him
82:29
so yes 100
82:32
yeah and let’s be clear all of our
82:33
criticism of major league baseball they
82:35
have the right to do this
82:36
it’s their their league they can do
82:38
whatever my bigger beef with major
82:39
league baseball is just the sheer amount
82:41
of taxpayer money that they
82:42
steal from people across multiple states
82:46
and municipalities
82:47
in order to fund their their craft
82:50
organization that they have that’s
82:52
ostensibly built around a sport uh
82:54
that’s my what i’m upset about i’m not
82:56
terribly upset that they
82:57
moved from atlanta to colorado but i
82:59
will laugh
83:00
like hell at their hypocrisy at where
83:02
they where they move to which is
83:05
kind of worse uh than where they moved
83:07
from um
83:08
so yes that’s what we think about that
83:10
and we are still safe so far
83:13
with this raw dog episode of
83:16
personal injury attorney chris reynolds
83:18
attorney at la where we have no idea
83:19
what
83:20
matt hicks has in store for us
83:23
let’s spin that wheel again i know this
83:26
is like russian
83:27
this is like russian roulette with like
83:30
multiple bullets
83:32
multiple bullets in the chamber right
83:34
and you’re only spinning them one at a
83:36
time
83:36
so you’re just waiting right
83:40
we’re and we’re down to the very last
83:42
click
83:43
so here’s our last one and god is short
83:47
too oh
83:50
we’re done with the last one from matt
83:52
laser legend hicks
83:56
hello again guy on left and spike and
83:59
at all i just wanted to clarify
84:02
something from my previous message
84:04
when i said politicians can’t shut the f
84:06
up i meant [ __ ]
84:07
they can’t shut up there we are there we
84:10
go
84:11
there it is yeah there it was yeah
84:14
i knew that was coming there was there
84:16
was the matt hicks we all know and love
84:18
i figured it would be in the comments
84:19
but there it is
84:21
there it is well matt thanks so much by
84:24
the way
84:25
before i forget i need to mention
84:28
that i am going to be uh at
84:32
the humane society of north myrtle beach
84:34
shelter lock in i’ll be live streaming
84:37
on sunday uh from my shelter lock-in
84:39
where
84:40
i and my wife spike cohen’s wife i can
84:42
do it too uh
84:44
will be uh at the uh at the shelter
84:48
uh doing uh participating in a lock in
84:50
to raise funds for the humane society
84:53
of north myrtle beach that is where i
84:55
have we have gotten all of
84:56
our our shelter pets and over the years
84:59
we’ve done a lot of fostering and
85:01
volunteering there and i will be there
85:03
uh they want me to wear a suit i’m not
85:06
wearing my suit into a kennel
85:08
um but uh i will be there locked in with
85:12
the dog
85:12
it’s gonna be fun and uh and we’re gonna
85:15
hang out
85:16
until um until we raise
85:19
uh i forget what the target is but we
85:21
raise we’re gonna raise money so
85:23
be sure to tune in to our social media
85:24
to my social media
85:26
this uh weekend and uh
85:29
give if you can yes
85:32
um yes
85:36
i know that we have another guest coming
85:38
on momentarily
85:40
momentarily and by that that means matt
85:43
is telling me to
85:45
get that guest i i was going to say
85:49
while we are waiting for that to happen
85:51
uh in the comments sean orton said uh
85:54
like i said last week uh the poor guy
85:56
who called the police because of his
85:58
employer’s questionable policies um yes
86:01
chris martin is that kid’s name he’s 19
86:03
years old
86:05
he is going to be 20 soon which means
86:08
that when this happened he made
86:09
only when the george floyd thing
86:11
happened he may have only been 18.
86:13
he was the one that was given the 20 to
86:14
the fake 20 bill
86:16
he went out and said hey this is a fake
86:18
20 bill this comes out of my paycheck
86:21
please give me a real one and the guy
86:23
that was with
86:25
uh george floyd uh gave him another fake
86:28
one and he goes no this is faking he
86:29
just ripped it up in front of him and
86:30
refused to give him the money
86:32
and he was the one that chris martin was
86:34
the one that went inside
86:36
and he talked to his manager and he said
86:38
they won’t give me the real money
86:40
and so the manager called the police
86:44
um the manager called
86:48
the manager called the police um and i
86:50
honestly
86:52
i feel terrible for chris martin
86:55
i feel awful for chris martin because
86:58
in the trial he said that he feels
87:02
guilty
87:03
that george floyd isn’t still alive
87:06
he blames himself for that death
87:09
right and on top of it he blames himself
87:13
for all of the riots
87:16
wow and joe biden um he didn’t say that
87:19
part
87:20
but uh he blames himself for these
87:24
things
87:24
he is living with that guilt which he
87:27
shouldn’t be living with that is not
87:28
something he should be living with
87:30
that is on the that should squarely be
87:33
on the shoulders
87:34
of derek chovin yeah yeah yeah
87:38
he was doing his job by reporting
87:42
someone who was
87:43
trying to pass off what they believed to
87:45
be a counterfeit 20.
87:46
um putting aside the fact that they were
87:49
doing what the federal reserve and big
87:50
business does all day long handing out
87:52
handing off uh fraudulent monopoly notes
87:54
to uh to to get by
87:56
to get over on people um the reality is
88:01
he was doing what his job is if he
88:03
hadn’t done that he would have been
88:04
fired
88:05
they might have thought that he was in
88:06
on it there’s there’s many things that
88:07
could have happened
88:08
um here is the
88:12
morning here is something and that’s the
88:15
thing the money was going to be coming
88:16
out of his paycheck it’s not his fault
88:18
that this was happening
88:19
uh now there is a lesson to learn here
88:22
when you call the police
88:24
you are bringing out someone that is
88:26
trained
88:27
to use deadly force and they often
88:30
thanks to qualified immunity
88:32
are eager to use deadly force not always
88:35
and and maybe not even most of the time
88:37
but you are we’re talking about spinning
88:39
that russian roulette wheel
88:41
you’re spinning that roulette wheel and
88:42
pointing it at whoever you just called
88:44
the police on and possibly even yourself
88:45
there have been many people who’ve
88:46
called the police and they end up
88:47
getting killed too
88:48
um so you know you got to be really
88:50
careful about that
88:52
uh when you’re doing that but with that
88:53
said uh you you can’t blame this guy
88:56
for that he it is not his fault derek
88:58
chauvin
88:59
murdered george floyd that’s why this is
89:02
happening
89:03
and many other things have been
89:04
happening uh in
89:06
uh minneapolis and around the country
89:08
that have been leading up to this
89:10
happening for quite some time
89:11
that this was not uh his fault in fact i
89:13
still say
89:14
that the lockdowns helped to create some
89:17
of the
89:17
powder keg conditions that led to people
89:20
these were people that were being told
89:22
stay inside stay inside stay inside stay
89:23
inside
89:24
and then they are out in the streets
89:26
protesting in the midst of being told to
89:28
stay inside
89:29
at least some of that came for at least
89:31
maybe the it would have still happened
89:33
without the lockdowns
89:34
but it certainly was more made more
89:36
intense by the fact that everyone was on
89:38
edge
89:38
even before all of that um and so it is
89:41
definitely not
89:42
it is definitely not his fault
89:46
yeah we are having uh some
89:49
issues with getting our next guest on
89:51
but we’re working that out
89:52
right now so we’re just gonna talk to
89:54
the people in the comments
89:56
right because that’s when they were like
89:58
we like you guys we like the comment
90:00
you guys um we love the comment people
90:03
people in the comments have already seen
90:04
that but i’m not gonna say that i’m
90:05
gonna i’m gonna wait for our next guest
90:07
to uh say that um
90:10
because i feel as though he would want
90:12
to say that um
90:16
steven andrew witt says he may stop by
90:18
your event
90:21
which one you’re the the one in south
90:24
oh in uh north myrtle beach yeah yeah
90:26
yeah um yeah i was gonna let me know
90:28
he’s in horry county he’s i believe he’s
90:30
running oh
90:32
we i believe he’s running for city
90:35
council
90:35
in uh horry county i believe so i’m not
90:38
a hundred percent sure oh
90:41
county what it’s not it’s not horry cat
90:45
it’s overy county
90:46
i’ve been there it’s horry county
90:50
that’s fair and not even spelled that
90:53
way
90:54
yeah not even spelled that attempt to
90:56
say that i didn’t say that right
90:59
okay that’s fair no because i grew up
91:01
here and you are not
91:02
incorrect in that assessment yeah i’ve
91:04
only been there once
91:05
to see you and it was that was bad
91:08
enough
91:09
let me say i picked up the vibe of horry
91:12
county
91:12
um also part of tiger king was film
91:16
there
91:17
um i think it was there
91:20
i believe that was in that county uh
91:23
jacob labelle the reason i
91:24
am so laggy is because of skype
91:28
we hate skype we hate skype but whenever
91:31
we have multiple guests well whenever we
91:33
have guests on
91:34
we have to use skype yeah we have to use
91:37
skype because that’s what allows us to
91:39
do this format here
91:40
where we have multiple feeds coming in
91:43
at the same time so it’s awesome that
91:44
skype offers that
91:45
but skype sucks so much
91:50
also the sound the video quality is
91:53
better
91:54
but the sound lag more than makes up for
91:56
the video quality issues so like for
91:58
example
91:58
i use we use skype when i go on kennedy
92:01
which is weird
92:02
and there’s a there’s like a time lag
92:03
that happens as a result of that
92:05
and yeah the sound quality is better but
92:07
i’m often responding like two seconds
92:09
after
92:10
what was said i i you know that’s that’s
92:12
their decision
92:13
um the uh for a contribution toward mrs
92:17
sarah wright’s ring which
92:19
yes look she doesn’t have to take my
92:22
name i’m not that person
92:23
she’s like no this is gonna happen like
92:25
let’s not i mean it could happen
92:28
let’s not get any ideas
92:32
she’s a planner and i am not so
92:35
don’t even start trying to get her to
92:37
plan
92:39
anything along these lines yeah no do it
92:43
give more money for the ring anything
92:46
that’s
92:46
uh uh anything that is earmarked for the
92:48
ring goes straight to matt we don’t we
92:50
don’t share that 50 50 like we do with
92:52
the other stuff
92:53
so get those get those yeah oh no all of
92:56
a sudden now you’re good with it right
92:58
get those uh get that ring money in look
93:01
so here’s my issues
93:02
um here’s my issue and i have explained
93:05
this to numerous people
93:07
when i was in alaska i worked at a
93:09
jewelry store
93:11
the
93:14
see caitlin clovin gets it if you want
93:17
to wow her get her a ring pop that’s
93:18
what that was what my plan was
93:21
um that was a very okay okay that was a
93:24
very
93:25
gentile comment caitlyn
93:28
he is dating a farm jew
93:31
okay she wants to see the ring
93:35
but when i was when i was in alaska i
93:36
was working at a jewelry store
93:38
and the markup um
93:42
the markup brian just texted us um the
93:44
markup on jewelry is
93:46
so exorbitant like they would have these
93:48
color codes on the backs of the price
93:50
tags and that would show you
93:52
exactly how much you are allowed to
93:54
immediately cut off the price when you
93:56
were talking to somebody
93:57
so if it was like a purple tag and you
94:00
picked it up and you’re like okay this
94:01
is ten thousand dollars
94:02
immediately you know you can start at
94:04
six thousand six hundred
94:06
and there’s wiggle room from there so i
94:09
have an
94:09
issue paying for overpriced shiny rocks
94:13
that are inflated in price because of an
94:17
advertising campaign back in the 1930s
94:21
hey listen i agree with that as well and
94:24
i still say
94:26
that you are now dealing with you were
94:29
not
94:29
dating a gentile man you are dating
94:33
not just a jew you’re dating a farm jew
94:36
and
94:36
it’s true it is important you’re dating
94:38
an agricultural
94:39
a what you’re you’re encroaching on my
94:42
side now
94:43
well this is my i’m taking the floor
94:46
good sir
94:47
and and you know if you want to have
94:49
this conversation i’m just going to head
94:50
you out there
94:51
um the you know you are dating an
94:54
agricultural semite and the reality is
94:56
that if you uh if you want to be able to
95:01
and uh you definitely uh
95:05
just folks just earmark your donations
95:08
for the ring and we’re making this
95:09
happen
95:10
hashtag farmjew ring speaking of a jews
95:14
and
95:14
uh food
95:17
sure um we have a
95:20
jew joining us this is a terrible segue
95:24
uh but we have a a gentleman
95:27
who is running for city clerk uh in
95:30
um dekalb dekalb dekaab dekalb
95:33
illinois dekalb illinois uh and
95:37
uh he is joining us to update us on how
95:39
that’s going tonight is the election
95:41
night there
95:42
uh and so uh all the way from oh i
95:46
didn’t update
95:46
his name of where he is but i’ll do that
95:49
right now
95:50
um joining us from
95:54
this yes this is not with a t this is
95:57
with an
95:57
s yeah this is not my wife this is not
96:00
my wife that is joining us
96:02
this is sasha cohen
96:05
no relation why is he not coming up
96:08
why wait wait this is sasha wait
96:13
this is why is this happening here we go
96:15
is this now we’re going to see him
96:17
there we are sasha cohen joining us from
96:21
dakab
96:21
illinois and i will change that i will
96:24
update that sasha how are things going
96:25
up there in illinois
96:27
they are going awesome we’ve been
96:29
getting results in pretty periodically
96:32
and it is looking really good um
96:35
as of my last check i’m sitting at a
96:38
little over
96:39
1500 votes and my opponent is
96:42
at 328.
96:48
yeah it looks like this is a thing and
96:52
how and what’s the uh percentage of
96:53
votes that are in
96:55
um it says that 41 out of 65 precincts
96:58
have
96:59
uh reported so far so
97:03
you know it’s looking good yeah your
97:06
average voter turnout
97:07
for um a municipal election here in
97:10
dekalb is like
97:11
32 300 and
97:14
with 1800 votes in so far
97:17
i’m up 1200. so yeah that’s sounding
97:21
pretty good
97:22
and the thing is it’s you know you’re
97:23
dealing with
97:25
um like you said this is a municipal
97:27
election
97:28
not only is it not on a presidential
97:31
election day
97:32
it’s not even on a midterm election day
97:35
it’s not even in november
97:37
it’s a special election that’s happening
97:39
in a in a really weird time
97:41
where probably most of the people in
97:42
your area don’t even know that it’s an
97:44
election day
97:45
so what a great day for you to become an
97:47
incumbent this is incredible man
97:48
congratulations
97:49
well we don’t know yet prohibitively
97:53
uh we are what is it vermin supreme says
97:56
we are caught we are
97:57
cautiously um
98:03
we used to say this all the time we are
98:05
cautiously
98:08
you tell us things tell us about why
98:10
what what you’re what you’re planning on
98:11
doing if you
98:12
if you get your election sure so
98:15
the the role of the city clerk isn’t
98:17
really a policy-based
98:19
role it’s a lot more administrative
98:22
but one of the things that the clerk
98:24
does is stamp off on permits that are
98:27
issued by the city manager’s office
98:29
a fix the city seal to new ordinances
98:32
that have been passed
98:33
and things like that so we’ve had some
98:36
issues in the past with
98:38
a pretty distinct lack of transparency
98:40
coming out of our city manager’s office
98:43
a lot of people feel as though there
98:45
really are still backroom dealings in
98:47
you know
98:48
cigar filled rooms for which property
98:50
developers get
98:51
which tiff grants etc and so i want to
98:54
use the position to
98:56
force as much transparency as possible
98:58
in fiscal matters
99:00
and then secondarily and possibly even
99:02
more exciting
99:03
the clerk is the local election
99:05
authority and
99:06
as clerk i have the ability to go to the
99:09
city council
99:10
and present an alternative voting method
99:14
um for their consideration and adoption
99:17
if uh
99:18
if they’re willing to do so so my one of
99:20
my main campaign planks was
99:22
i would like to bring ranked choice
99:23
voting to dekalb so that we can then
99:26
expand it to other cities in the state
99:28
expand it to the state
99:29
as you know as far as statewide
99:31
elections go right right
99:33
go from there so just to be clear it
99:36
would have to be the city council would
99:37
have to vote on whether to implement
99:39
ranked choice right but you can present
99:40
it yes
99:41
yeah and awesome i’ve already spoken to
99:44
three of the seven council members um
99:47
well
99:49
two two for sure council members that um
99:53
will be in favor of it and one more
99:55
who’s currently leading
99:57
but still too early to call who will
99:59
also be in favor
100:00
so i think it’s looking fairly good in
100:03
terms of being able to get the votes to
100:04
actually make that happen
100:06
that is awesome man congratulations
100:08
congratulations
100:09
that is that is amazing we like
100:12
obviously
100:14
we’re a very non-partisan show um
100:19
we like to show all sides of the
100:21
argument um
100:23
and we definitely don’t favor any one
100:25
candidate over again oh god no
100:27
no never never how dare you
100:31
i can’t believe anybody would accuse us
100:33
of such a thing
100:35
but we think we love watching
100:38
we love watching uh libertarians when uh
100:41
especially when we know them
100:43
and you know we’ve we’ve spikes hung out
100:46
with you i haven’t because
100:47
i wasn’t traveling around the country
100:48
all last year but um
100:51
but uh libertarians when who we know are
100:53
good
100:54
you know good libertarians who are who
100:56
are dedicated
100:57
and who are strong libertarians and
101:00
granted only 82 86 i don’t remember what
101:04
kaitlyn last said
101:05
um only 86 percent of the vote is in
101:08
and but i i mean i feel confident for
101:11
you
101:11
i’m not 100 sure how many people are
101:14
left to vote so
101:16
i was going to say very and that’s
101:18
amazing that is
101:19
great great stuff yeah yeah and we say
101:23
that totally
101:23
unbiased i barely know you we do not
101:26
care
101:27
about who wins at all we not we’re so
101:30
nonpartisan that we actually are um
101:34
um oh gosh well i’m not gonna say that
101:36
uh but we definitely uh
101:38
we are we uh we’re not not
101:41
nope uh but we are uh we definitely uh
101:44
don’t um
101:46
have a uh a pony in this fight oh
101:48
cautiously trepidatious
101:49
is what uh vermin says so we are
101:51
cautiously trepidatious
101:53
trepidatious that you will win this race
101:55
uh but
101:56
um so you’re gonna be able to bring some
101:59
transparency to dekalb
102:01
and you’re going to be able to
102:02
potentially introduce uh
102:04
some uh some um
102:07
you know election reforms and things
102:09
like that so that the people of dekalb
102:11
and
102:11
maybe even moving up into the county and
102:13
the uh and eventually the state of
102:15
illinois
102:16
will have more voting choices now you
102:17
had a bit of a of a an interesting
102:20
turn of events towards the end of the
102:22
election with sort of a surprise
102:23
uh challenger can you tell us a little
102:25
bit about that
102:27
yeah so i um i decided to run for clerk
102:31
almost immediately after losing my
102:34
county board race last year
102:35
i started the petitioning process i
102:37
think within two weeks of the november
102:39
election
102:40
um which was a lot
102:44
to uh to jump right back in but
102:47
yeah what i did was i very very
102:50
quietly petitioned i didn’t make any
102:53
public announcements i didn’t utilize my
102:55
facebook page from the last campaign
102:58
to to talk about it and then 10 minutes
103:00
before the filing window on the last day
103:02
to file
103:03
i went in and i turned in my paperwork
103:06
um
103:07
so it looked like i was going to be
103:08
completely unopposed
103:10
and then in mid-february of this year
103:14
um we got a little surprise
103:17
that there was going to be a writing
103:19
candidate who had filed
103:21
who actually is an administrative
103:23
assistant in the city manager’s office
103:27
which didn’t quite sit right with me the
103:31
idea that the person whose
103:32
you know sole role as an elected
103:34
official is to be the backstop on
103:37
malfeasance and errors by the city
103:38
manager’s office would be a
103:40
directly reporting employee that would
103:43
seem like a bit of
103:44
uh a bit of conflict of interest there
103:46
yeah that would sound
103:48
like a georgia governor’s race yeah
103:51
it was um it was concerning and then i
103:54
started to notice
103:55
that some of the wealthier individuals
103:58
in town um including our own little
104:02
homegrown political action committee
104:04
because a town of 50 000 people in the
104:06
cornfields needs a pack
104:08
um were apparently deciding to
104:11
back her because they had concerns about
104:13
me
104:14
being a divisive figure um
104:18
you know i have a habit of going to city
104:19
council meetings and
104:21
really letting them know what’s on my
104:23
mind and what i think about the job that
104:25
they’re doing
104:26
and that didn’t sit very well with uh
104:28
some of the more
104:29
establishment uh politicos in town so
104:33
sort of at the the last second you know
104:34
today’s april 6th
104:36
she declared in mid-february i
104:39
had a moment where i realized oh this is
104:42
actually going to be a real
104:43
actual race yeah so i brought in
104:47
uh the best of the best okay i grabbed
104:50
caitlyn cloven
104:51
to be my campaign manager um and she did
104:55
an
104:55
absolutely incredible job from designing
104:59
beautiful pieces of literature door
105:01
hangers
105:02
postcards palm cards
105:05
to helping set up an admin facebook ads
105:09
to driving here physically from ohio
105:12
every weekend for the last three weeks
105:14
before the election
105:16
to knock on doors um
105:19
and with with her help and the help of
105:22
other libertarians in my state and
105:26
libertarians around the country that
105:27
sent donations and
105:30
other support you know volunteered to
105:31
make graphics
105:33
and some local alliances that i built i
105:36
was able to uh get it done
105:38
that’s amazing real quick i’m gonna uh
105:41
say some great things about caitlin in a
105:43
moment but i just want to
105:44
before you get so big that people you
105:46
know are like oh
105:48
you know he’s the real he’s the only s
105:50
cohen libertarian that’s ever been
105:52
elected i just want to make it clear
105:54
that i knew sasha i knew sasha long
105:57
before
105:58
any of y’all did this is a photo of me
106:00
with him and danny malouf’s there
106:02
surprise cameo by danny
106:03
danny malouf there in the uh in the
106:05
burgundy
106:07
uh suit there um it’s just important
106:10
because you are now
106:11
you’re taking on the mantle of the most
106:15
uh elected s dot cohen
106:19
in the libertarian party and that’s
106:21
important
106:22
you are also um the very first person to
106:25
buy the
106:26
spike cohen neck gator oh well i had
106:29
that seen here
106:30
yeah i mean you did it goes with the hat
106:33
too
106:34
i mean i just want to make it clear you
106:35
know in case people go oh
106:37
you’re not this dot cohen people care
106:40
about anymore spike
106:41
there’s a new s dot coin in town i’m
106:43
gonna say yeah and he owns my merch
106:44
so you know let’s just be clear
106:48
folks i can mail you some merch spike
106:52
you know what i would love as i was
106:54
saying that i’m like i’d like some merch
106:55
though
106:56
um so let’s talk about caitlyn clovin
106:58
for a minute because she’s fantastic
107:01
um while simon
107:04
what’s that she’s one of our admins
107:08
[Laughter]
107:11
secret admins well the thing is you know
107:13
in addition to holding my social media
107:16
hostage
107:17
um she is also involved in so many
107:19
different campaigns like yours
107:21
and the fact that she’s able to like you
107:23
said actually drive every weekend to go
107:25
and help knock on doors and help with
107:26
your campaign
107:27
and simultaneously remotely helping
107:29
other campaigns across the country
107:31
and again holding me and my social media
107:33
and my entire internet
107:35
persona hostage uh against my very will
107:38
uh on a daily basis and holding that
107:41
that that
107:42
sword of damocles over my head uh on
107:45
on a daily basis like it’s incredible
107:47
that she can be both so
107:49
impactful and uh malicious and nefarious
107:52
and malfeasant at the same time
107:57
it’s incredible stuff it is
108:01
so i thought on she was on
108:04
your she was she was posting from your
108:06
account one day
108:08
and there was a picture of
108:13
i think it was just a bunch of
108:14
democratic congressmen and she goes and
108:16
i was like who is this wrong answers
108:17
only and she was i’m pretty certain that
108:19
this is relying okay
108:21
and i messaged you
108:25
on facebook or on twitter and i was like
108:28
apparently spike cohen forgets that his
108:31
co-host is friends with the lead singer
108:32
of reliant k
108:34
and she messaged me she was like oh my
108:36
god really i was just trying to think of
108:38
any white boy band
108:41
how how weird that my co-host would be
108:44
dear friends with generic white boy band
108:47
member matt
108:51
is his name matt his name is matt yeah
108:54
wow
108:55
that’s incredibly white
108:58
yeah that’s very white
109:01
so sasha what you know you’re obviously
109:04
you
109:04
well we we don’t know for certain but
109:07
it’s looking awful damn good for you
109:09
um what are the some of the first things
109:11
that you want to do when you get in like
109:13
when you when you uh when
109:14
you when do you swear if you get elected
109:17
when do you swear in is that like
109:19
in a few days or when how does that work
109:22
so
109:22
um swearing in is at the first meeting
109:26
following the certification of results
109:28
so depending on how quickly the county
109:30
clerk processes
109:32
it will either be the fourth monday
109:35
of this month so about two weeks out or
109:37
three weeks out
109:38
or the second monday of may so i love it
109:41
i am going to
109:43
take the next couple of days to set my
109:46
phone down and ignore
109:47
absolutely everything
109:50
immediately get to work that’s good that
109:52
is awesome
109:53
so uh what what’s like one of the first
109:56
things you want to do when you get it
109:57
when you get in there
109:58
just start opening the ledger so
109:59
everyone can see what’s going on
110:02
yeah um i think one of the one of the
110:04
first things that i want to do
110:05
is i want to establish um
110:10
a direct method that residents can reach
110:12
out
110:13
to me to bring to bring issues to the
110:15
council i know that there’s
110:17
a lot of residents in the city that have
110:19
felt fairly unheard by their elected
110:21
officials
110:22
over the last few years and if the
110:26
aldermen aren’t going to hold regular
110:27
ward meetings to uh
110:29
to listen to concerns then i’m going to
110:32
maintain an open door policy at city
110:33
hall and if
110:35
if a resident has a problem they can
110:37
come in and
110:38
i have the right to speak during the
110:40
clerks report every city council meeting
110:42
so i will
110:43
relay those concerns um then i want to
110:46
start moving on to looking at the books
110:48
and seeing what things are going on with
110:50
permit processes
110:53
this is incredible i am so excited for
110:56
you
110:57
this is so cool this we just had colon
110:59
cole evil
111:00
who is fighting a similar fight in uh in
111:03
carthage tennessee
111:05
and you know he’s he’s in a position
111:07
where you know a lot of stuff he wants
111:08
to do can’t get done because he’s having
111:10
to get
111:11
you know a second or a vote from the
111:13
other council members
111:14
you have a lot of authorities of things
111:15
that you can do and you don’t have to
111:16
get anyone’s approval
111:17
you can just do it because that’s your
111:19
job as city clerk so that’s really
111:21
that’s so cool that you got that that
111:23
you’re getting that uh
111:24
caitlyn clovin has asked you to talk
111:27
about your vacation
111:28
and that she’s so excited for you
111:32
oh well um i i have spent the last
111:37
like week in between knocking doors um
111:40
looking for cheap flights to literally
111:42
anywhere because
111:44
i need to go spend some time
111:47
recuperating from
111:48
yeah back to back runs um and
111:51
i think i found a cheap flight to
111:54
ecuador that leaves on saturday so i
111:55
think
111:56
wow jump out of the country for a couple
111:58
days and relax somewhere
112:00
nice typical politician fleeing to a
112:03
tropical locale after getting elected
112:06
makes me
112:07
sick no you deserve it man
112:11
it’s very there isn’t a storm coming to
112:13
dekalb or anything is there
112:15
you don’t want to mess up your your
112:16
political aspirations right off the bat
112:20
right well listen man
112:23
we are so happy for you uh it is
112:26
incredible um
112:27
again we’re waiting to cautiously
112:29
trepidatious we are waiting to see
112:31
what happens uh some more results in
112:36
okay i’m looking at it now and i’m at
112:38
17.59
112:40
to 389. so she’s still in the threes
112:44
yeah and that’s with 51 out of 65
112:46
precincts county wide reporting so
112:50
i think we’re uh we’re looking good yeah
112:54
you’re you’re looking better than you
112:55
were when you first started this program
112:59
yeah and yeah in fact your gap is
113:02
widening right
113:03
yeah it’s 200 votes wider than it was uh
113:06
last time and now unless we
113:10
unless we surpass last municipal
113:13
elections
113:14
uh total vote turnout by like 10
113:18
and a hundred percent of the outstanding
113:20
votes are
113:21
right in votes for my opponent i’ve got
113:24
it
113:25
so awesome
113:29
it’s pretty cool i mean again we do not
113:32
you know we do not want to say for
113:34
certain
113:35
we are not we are very non-partisan here
113:38
we are not partisan but it’s looking
113:40
good i just want to wish you a hearty
113:43
objection objective and
113:46
uh nonpartisan totally unbiased
113:51
congratulations that i would absolutely
113:53
give to just any
113:54
person seriously man congratulations i
113:56
know you worked
113:57
really really hard for this right off
114:00
the heels of
114:00
working really hard for another race and
114:03
uh you know i
114:04
i i don’t know how you did it because i
114:06
was done with my race when it was over i
114:07
was ready to take some time off
114:09
um so i i think it’s incredible that you
114:11
got lucky actually
114:13
um this this race i got a
114:16
a much larger amount of local help
114:18
because i work to build some alliances
114:21
with um with some kind of surprising uh
114:24
people i um
114:28
first off i got the chair of the county
114:31
democratic party
114:32
to collect 120 of my 250 signatures that
114:37
i needed
114:38
wow along with sort of the the
114:41
democratic slate
114:42
for other offices you know they’re all
114:44
they’re all nonpartisan but we know how
114:46
it goes
114:47
right right sort of run their people and
114:50
so they were they were immensely helpful
114:52
i helped petition for them a little bit
114:53
they helped petition for me
114:55
um and then after that i
114:58
scored a really key endorsement which
115:01
was from the dekalb chapter of the
115:03
sunrise movement
115:06
uh can you tell us a little bit about
115:07
the sunrise movement i was gonna say
115:09
what’s what’s this
115:10
movement so the sunrise movement is the
115:14
um fairly newly formed they were from
115:16
2017.
115:18
a national organization dedicated to
115:21
environmental justice
115:23
specifically passing the green new deal
115:26
um
115:27
which is not a you know which is not a
115:29
policy platform that i
115:30
actually support and i i said as much in
115:34
my endorsement question you know the the
115:35
second question was
115:36
do you support the green new deal and
115:39
you know what part of it is
115:40
most key and i said i i don’t support
115:43
the green new deal
115:44
because i’m an anarchist and because i
115:47
think that
115:48
there are other ways that we can achieve
115:51
what we need to do i i acknowledge
115:53
the climate crisis i acknowledge the
115:55
fact that we need
115:56
major solutions you know and fossil
115:58
fuels relaxing zoning laws to allow
116:01
co-ops
116:01
uh an end to us imperialism which is the
116:03
biggest polluter in the world
116:05
yeah um and it paid off
116:08
and you know i i really want to thank
116:10
you for that because something that you
116:12
said
116:12
on one of these episodes a number of
116:15
months ago really stuck with me
116:17
and you were talking about forming
116:20
relationships
116:21
around single issues with groups that
116:23
aren’t necessarily libertarian
116:25
and the way you put it was people won’t
116:27
care how much you know
116:29
until they know how much you care yep
116:31
and
116:32
that has just sort of been guiding the
116:34
way i
116:35
interact with all these different
116:36
advocacy and interest groups and it
116:39
it has paid off it works yeah
116:42
it works when you show people that you
116:44
actually care about
116:45
and you even told them i don’t even
116:47
support your preferred policy
116:49
but i care about what you care about and
116:51
here’s how i think that should be
116:53
handled
116:53
i mean while you weren’t running in a
116:54
race where the green new deal would even
116:56
come up
116:57
or you’re you know you know in a city
116:59
election as a city clerk i mean i guess
117:00
you could introduce some things but
117:02
certainly nothing you know on a national
117:04
level that they’re proposing but even
117:05
still
117:06
you straight up went to them and said i
117:08
don’t support what it is you want to do
117:10
about this
117:10
but i recognize it’s a problem and here
117:13
are my principal takes on on what i
117:14
think we should be doing about it and
117:16
they endorsed you because of that man
117:18
that’s that’s how it works that’s this
117:20
is the way
117:21
this is the way for libertarians to win
117:24
accordingly
117:25
yeah according to dan lewis in the
117:27
comments the northern
117:28
star is calling the race for you yep
117:31
that’s the college paper i just got the
117:32
notification
117:35
oh yeah i guess that’s it thank you
117:38
wow it’s looking good wow
117:42
that’s amazing congratulations i want to
117:44
tell you i’m not going to lie man
117:47
when you when it was announced that you
117:50
were having
117:51
a write-in challenger and that
117:54
you know big money was coming behind
117:56
them to help and i thought here we go
117:58
here here’s that thing and you still
118:00
monkey stomped him
118:01
this is amazing man this is it’s
118:04
incredible i cannot wait to watch you
118:07
but also by the way i’m gonna be
118:08
promoting the hell out of what you’re
118:09
doing there
118:10
uh exposing what’s happening there you
118:12
know it’s just like what i’ve been doing
118:14
with cole and tricia
118:15
and uh cassandra and kalish and all the
118:18
people that are getting elected across
118:19
the country
118:20
uh um uh marshall burt you know all
118:23
these people that are getting elected
118:24
across the country
118:25
uh you will definitely be one of the
118:26
people i’m promoting when you’re
118:27
exposing what’s happening
118:28
people need to see what’s happening we
118:30
focus so much on the national
118:32
federal stuff or even the statewide
118:34
stuff but often some of the worst
118:36
uh corruption and tyranny happens
118:39
in city councils and county councils and
118:42
local races with people that live like a
118:44
few miles from us
118:46
and it’s really gonna be great to watch
118:48
you uh to watch you do all that man
118:50
well thank you so much
118:53
well folks hey thank you sasha
118:57
and i was gonna say uh sasha is there
119:00
anything that you want to uh is there
119:02
any way that
119:03
i mean you’ve already just won so yeah i
119:06
i don’t really know how to ask this
119:08
question now
119:08
normally i’m like where can they do how
119:10
can people help you
119:12
yeah but you already won how can people
119:13
keep in touch with you and see what
119:15
and keep up with what you’re doing
119:17
besides following my social media where
119:18
i’ll be sharing it how can they keep in
119:20
touch with you
119:21
sure so um i have a facebook page
119:25
sasha for dekalb which i suppose i
119:27
should probably now
119:28
transition to sasha
119:32
of dekalb or something
119:39
so that that’ll be the place where i
119:42
really sort of
119:43
centrally share what’s going on um
119:47
and obviously i’ll be uh you know sort
119:49
of making the circuit around
119:51
party conventions and i’ll be at a
119:53
number of the state
119:54
uh conventions over the next couple
119:56
months to meet people
119:58
and hopefully uh offer advice and help
120:02
wherever it’s
120:02
uh needed because i would like to see a
120:05
lot more
120:06
uh libertarian elected officials i i
120:08
would like my race to be something that
120:10
people at the national level go okay we
120:12
have
120:13
10 000 municipal elections who cares
120:16
exactly
120:17
exactly let’s get thousands of
120:20
libertarians
120:21
elected across the country so that they
120:23
can do the kind of stuff you’re doing
120:25
and when people say oh libertarians
120:27
can’t win yeah we can
120:28
oh what are libertarians even doing
120:30
they’re exposing the mess that republic
120:31
rats have created
120:32
oh i never hear from libertarians except
120:34
during election day no
120:36
or election year no libertarians are
120:38
across the country
120:39
fixing the problems that the republicans
120:41
and democrats created i think i’m just
120:43
so proud of you man this is fantastic
120:45
we love you here on money waters uh
120:48
thank you
120:48
uh i’m so sorry that caitlyn has also
120:50
been holding you hostage but that now
120:52
ends hopefully
120:53
um and uh thank you again and folks
120:56
thank you for tuning in uh to this
120:58
episode of the muddy waters of
121:00
freedom again i will be at the shelter
121:03
lock-in
121:04
uh this weekend in uh at the humane
121:06
society in north myrtle beach
121:08
next weekend i will be in wasilla alaska
121:11
for the libertarian party of alaska
121:12
convention and their gold rush event
121:14
where i’ll be speaking
121:15
i’ll be more on that soon
121:18
over the next few days to talk about
121:20
what i’ll be doing there and how you can
121:21
be
121:21
involved um matt if someone were to
121:26
try to find us oh wait that’s not what
121:29
we do on this show
121:30
tomorrow i do have a show it’s called my
121:33
fellow americans
121:34
and it’s going to be tomorrow night and
121:35
my guest is going to be james
121:37
m ray who is an expert on nuclear energy
121:40
specifically
121:41
thorium energy he’s actually the chair
121:42
of the libertarian party
121:45
energy from thorium caucus proving that
121:47
there is a caucus in this party
121:49
for literally everything including
121:52
waffles
121:53
like there is there was we have so
121:56
caucusified this party
121:57
that there’s one for every there’s a
122:00
libertarian party
122:01
smoked salmon caucus after this episode
122:04
i will be forming the libertarian
122:06
farm jew caucus um and uh so that’s
122:10
gonna be a thing but james m ray is
122:11
gonna be on tomorrow night we’re gonna
122:12
be talking about energy from thorium
122:14
uh and how it can revolutionize uh
122:17
energy in this country
122:18
uh completely eliminating or all but
122:20
eliminating our carbon footprint
122:22
uh a much safer form of nuclear energy
122:25
generation than the current ones that
122:26
we’re using
122:27
and why we aren’t currently using it
122:30
hint
122:30
it’s because government sucks uh and
122:32
then you have an episode of your show on
122:34
thursday don’t you matt
122:36
yeah but we should probably let sasha
122:37
get back to his party
122:39
oh sasha i’m so sorry holding you up
122:41
sasha thank you so much man i appreciate
122:44
it
122:46
yeah thank you man thank you so much we
122:47

122:50

122:58
is running for lieutenant governor of
123:01
pennsylvania um she will be on we’re
123:04
going live about eight o’clock you know
123:08
muddy waters eight buddy waters eight a
123:11
muddy date
123:12
oh muddy that’s awesome uh we’re going
123:14
live at eight o’clock on uh
123:15
thursday with nicole schultz for the
123:17
writer’s block and then
123:20
next week we will be right here right
123:23
back here
123:24
same muddied place same money time
123:28
and you know what we have i might be
123:31
able to tell you who we have um
123:33
yeah we’re so thanks to brian we’re so
123:35
advanced i know we
123:37
brian brian’s great and uh next week we
123:39
will be on with a
123:40
tim mcmaster who yes
123:44
who is running for uh pennsylvania
123:46
senate district 48.
123:48
we are covering pennsylvania listen
123:51
pennsylvania is one of the most active
123:52
states in getting libertarians elected
123:54
thanks to the molten maneuver they have
123:56
something like
123:57
100 plus libertarian elected officials
123:59
and they add to that every single cycle
124:01
so no pennsylvania’s on it if every
124:04
state were firing on all cylinders like
124:05
pennsylvania was
124:06
we’d already have like a few thousand
124:08
libertarians elected across the country
124:10
we have joe soloski as joe soloski
124:13
as a sponsor as a sponsor we’ve got
124:15
nicole schultz coming on to my show on
124:17
tuesday and then we have
124:18
tim mcmaster coming on next tuesday yeah
124:21

124:41
they do they sound really good i’m
124:43
trying to decide which one we’re using
124:45
it is so good that guy when you hear him
124:48
talk you can tell that he’s a
124:50
cpa it’s so it’s like why aren’t you on
124:53

124:55

125:09
i don’t know when her show airs
125:11

125:12
know uh so if you enjoy me and kennedy
125:15
talking we’re gonna do it for like a
125:16
half hour
125:17
so that’s pretty cool um and uh
125:20

125:23
